EIB and Iberdrola Partner on €100M Green Loan for Sicilian Solar Plant; LONGi Hydrogen Enters Partnership with HydrogenPro and More...

The European Investment Bank (EIB) and Iberdrola, backed by SACE’s Archimede guarantee, have signed a €100 million green loan agreement to build a new photovoltaic plant in Sicily, Italy. This initiative supports the European Union’s climate goals and marks the EIB’s first collaboration with Iberdrola under SACE’s guarantee. The plant, located in the provinces of Enna and Catania, is set to become operational by 2025, with a generation capacity of 242.78 MWp—enough to supply renewable energy to approximately 154,000 Italian households annually.

LONGi Solar Hydrogen has signed an Investment Agreement with HydrogenPro ASA (HydrogenPro), a leader in green hydrogen technology and systems. LONGi Hydrogen, together with HydrogenPro’s shareholders ANDRITZ AG and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd, will invest approx. NOK 140 million in HydrogenPro.

Voltalia has commenced construction of the Spitalla photovoltaic power plant in Albania. Located in the Durr?s region on the Adriatic coast, just 50 kilometers from Tirana, the 100-megawatt plant will serve both public and private contracts. Of its capacity, 70 megawatts are allocated to a public contract awarded in 2021, while 30 megawatts will supply private-sector buyers. Once operational in the second half of 2027, Spitalla will generate enough electricity to power 150,000 residents annually while avoiding more than 18,000 tons of CO2 emissions.

Recurrent Energy , a subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc. announced the signing of a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with a major U.S.-based technology company.The agreement secures renewable energy from the Tordesillas solar PV project in Valladolid, located in Spain’s Castilla y León region. With an installed capacity of 300 MWp, the project is scheduled to become operational by 2026.
