EHA Clinics at the 5th Lagos Health Summit: From our lenses.

EHA Clinics proudly participated as a partner in the 5th Lagos Health Summit, a significant event that brought together key stakeholders in the health sector to discuss innovative solutions for improving healthcare delivery in Nigeria. At our exhibition booth, our team had an exciting time addressing questions and interacting with guests who visited. This provided an excellent opportunity to showcase our innovative solutions and engage directly with attendees.

Representing EHA Clinics, Dr. Ifunnanya Ilodibe contributed to a panel session titled “Building a Smart HealthTech Ecosystem: Connecting the Dots.” Here, we highlight the key takeaways from this insightful session:

PharmAccess and Digital Health Solutions

Njide Ndile of PharmAccess opened the session by sharing the organization's efforts in leveraging mobile applications and digital solutions to reach two million patients across 34 states in Nigeria. She emphasized the transformative power of technology in expanding healthcare access and improving patient outcomes.

EHA Clinics' Commitment to Data Security and HealthTech Innovation

Dr. Ifunnanya Ilodibe spoke passionately about the critical role of data security in healthcare. She highlighted the recent proliferation of digital solutions for data collection and EHA Clinics' proactive approach to developing an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system aimed at enhancing patient outcomes. This system is designed to preempt seasonal outbreaks, track condition management, and ensure well-documented, transferable data, especially in primary healthcare. By using an openEHR platform, EHA Clinics has facilitated easier integration with various health systems, contributing to a more interconnected healthcare ecosystem.

AfriHealth's Telemedicine Solutions

AfriHealth’s representative; Mr Ola Koniti, discussed how their telemedicine initiatives are addressing the scarcity of healthcare professionals in Nigeria. By utilizing an online triage tool, they have effectively identified common symptoms among patients, such as those testing positive for cholera, enabling quicker and more accurate diagnoses. This approach helps mitigate the doctor-to-patient ratio disparity and automates the repeat medication purchase process, streamlining patient care.

Emergency Response Africa and Emergency Preparedness

An insightful contribution from Emergency Response Africa highlighted the importance of pre-hospital care in Nigeria, which is often overlooked. The speaker called for improvements in emergency services, including the provision of ambulances and the adoption of emergency care as a first response. EMR Africa's efforts to survey and certify healthcare facilities to ensure they have a network of healthcare providers that are equipped and ready to provide essential services. One of which he proudly mentioned is EHA Clinics.

Remedial Health's Tech-Driven Pharma Solutions

Pharm. Angela Ohere of Remedial Health explained how their tech solutions are simplifying the pharmaceutical supply chain. Their focus on medication authentication and doorstep delivery of medications purchased via their app is revolutionizing the distribution process. Digital data collection further enhances their efficiency, ensuring medications reach institutions promptly and safely.

Interswitch eClat's Investment in Healthcare Technology

Dr. Babatunde from Interswitch eClat discussed their substantial investments in the healthcare space. By leveraging their established public trust, they deploy technology to healthcare facilities to automate processes tailored to specific provider needs. A notable achievement is the digitization of all primary healthcare centers in Edo State, where physicians conduct virtual consultations from abroad, consolidating patient data on a unified platform.

A Call to Action for Youth Participation

The session concluded with a message of hope and a call to action. The moderator expressed optimism about the growth of the digital health space, emphasizing the need for increased interoperability and interconnectedness in the coming years. Njide Ndile encouraged the youth to actively participate in stakeholder discussions and contribute to designing quality digital healthcare solutions, addressing the challenge of “analog policymakers” crafting digital solutions.

EHA Clinics remains committed to advancing healthcare through innovative technology and collaborative efforts, as demonstrated by our active participation in the 5th Lagos Health Summit. We look forward to continued engagement and progress in building a smarter health tech ecosystem.
