EH40 Shipbuilding Steel Standards and CCS Certification

EH40 steel plate is a high-grade ship plate with a -40 degree impact, which complies with classification society standards. High strength ship plates are divided into four quality levels, specifically AH32, DH32, EH32, FH32, AH36, DH36, EH36, FH36 AH40, DH40 EH40, FH40. EH40 and low alloy steel plates are the same. The Z-direction performance mainly requires the sulfur content and elongation after fracture of the steel plate. The higher the sulfur content, the lower the Z-direction performance. The Z-direction performance is the thickness direction performance of the steel plate. The layer tearing resistance test of the steel plate is an important technical requirement in the steel plate requirements, which is suitable for thicknesses between 15mm and 300mm, providing assurance for the thickness direction compressive strength of medium thick steel plates.

Steel plates can have additional Z-direction performance requirements. Taking EH40 as an example, EH40-Z15, EH40-Z25, and EH40-Z35 are arranged from low to high.
