Egypt launches mega project to establish 17 green food hubs

In collaboration with the Ministry of International Cooperation, the Internal Trade Development Authority (ITDA), and the French Development Agency (AFD), the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade has launched a project to establish 17 green food hubs across Egypt. Rural and Urban Infrastructures are strategic for internal trade and food security.

The project includes building a group of logistics hubs and markets for the retail and wholesale of vegetables and fruits, along with refrigerated and areas dedicated to packaging and sorting. The new green food hubs will use modern technology and clean energy in their operations and design. The hubs will also include waste recycling in a safe and sustainable way.

This event demsontrated a long and robust relation between France and Egypt for supporting value chains, farmers, logistics.

The consortium RINA NSCE and ITDA chaired by Mrs Cristina Migliaro, organised this event for displaying technical and business concept for the first Green Food Hub in Ismailia Governorate. The Italian, Egyptian, French, Tunisian team for excellence and substailable infrastructure. ?
