Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt's Prime Minister, attended a signing ceremony for two memoranda between the Egypt Future for Sustainable Development Agency and UAE's Masdar.

The agreements involve a 5 GW floating solar project on Lake Nasser and a 2.8 GW initiative in Nag Hammadi.

This partnership aims to enhance clean energy infrastructure, reduce carbon emissions, and create jobs, reinforcing Egypt and UAE’s commitment to sustainable development.


Hot Springs Cuts Non-Revenue Water Loss Nearly in Half with Digital Solutions from Xylem.

Hot Springs, Arkansas, has reduced non-revenue water (NRW) loss by nearly 50% using Xylem's digital solutions.

The city invested $3 million annually to modernize its 143-year-old water system, implementing advanced metering infrastructure for real-time leak detection. NRW decreased from 44% to 24%, with plans to reach 20% next year.


Contract awarded for Aquarevo Water Recycling Plant.

Aquarevo, a leading water-efficient community in Australia, will enhance its sustainability with a new water recycling facility in Lyndhurst, designed by Hydroflux.

Scheduled for construction in early 2025, the plant will treat 52 million liters of water annually for non-potable uses, reducing reliance on drinking water. It aims to set a national standard for water reuse and efficiency, in partnership with South East Water and Villawood Properties.


McCarthy-Jacobs Joint Venture Secures Groundwater Desalination Project in Southern California.

McCarthy and Jacobs have partnered to design and build the Torrance Groundwater Desalter Expansion, part of Southern California's WRD Brackish Groundwater Reclamation Program.

The $160 million project will treat brackish water, providing an additional 9 million gallons of drinking water daily for over 88,000 residents by 2027. It will utilize advanced reverse osmosis technology to enhance water supply sustainability.


Anglian Water tenders for Programme Delivery Partner to deliver its £10bn AMP8 business plan.

Anglian Water has begun the procurement process for a Programme Delivery Partner (PDP) to support its £10 billion capital investment plan for Asset Management Period 8 (AMP8) from 2025 to 2030.

The £1 billion contract, lasting until AMP10 in 2040, will enhance its investment program, including two new reservoirs. The contract will be awarded in summer 2025.


EBRD grants €200mln loan to Morocco’s OCP for desalination projects.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is providing a €200 million loan to OCP Group to enhance water security in Morocco by constructing two desalination plants in El Jadida and Safi.

With a combined capacity of 35 million m3, these facilities will reduce reliance on freshwater for fertilizer production and promote sustainable water management, addressing the region's significant water scarcity challenges.
