What do you remember about your first time using GenAI??

“You know, when I used Gen AI tools like ChatGPT or Midjourney for the first time in 2022, I had this prickling feeling in my fingers. I just knew that something significant had changed that sparked my curiosity to dive deeper.”?

How are you using GenAI in your daily work??

“So far, my innovation projects are always related to our core energy transition business: energy grids and customer solutions. GenAI opened a broader playing field for me to further innovate across these topic areas in ways that have so far fallen by the wayside for me, such as marketing, accounting etc., and thus drive the energy transition from new angles.?

?For example, in the area of marketing, we’re experimenting with GenAI tools that assist in the creation of customized, brand-conform multimedia marketing campaigns. This helps us to craft and convey our messages to inspire sustainable development with the power of AI even more effectively.”?

What’s it like incorporating GenAI into your job and innovations? Sounds exciting!?

“It certainly is. GenAI is offering me, as an ‘early adopter’, along with the E.ON Group Innovation and Startup Partnerships team, the opportunity to chart new territory, exploring dozens of exciting use cases for accelerating the energy transition. One amazing use case is changing how we engage with tenders, from identification to proposal writing. GenAI can enable faster identification of more relevant tenders and proposal drafting based on previously won tenders.”?

E.ON is proving itself to be at the forefront of using GenAI for energy innovation. What impact have you seen on business??

“We are addressing use cases at the core of our business, such as equipping field technicians with the info they need when they need it via AI-based assistants, as well as for supporting functions. We're improving our business model and capability to drive the energy transition from different sides with (Gen)AI. For example, the mentioned GenAI use case of responding to proposals empowers our business to provide sustainable energy solutions to our customers more efficiently.”?

How has EGI been able to accelerate its use of GenAI so quickly??

“Applying AI in our business is all about collaboration: Our GenAI program builds on E.ON Innovation's needs-based, open innovation approach: ‘Needs-based’ because we work closely with our business units to identify their challenges.; ‘open’ because we seek out market solutions, internal or external, e.g. from startups to then solve the challenges.”?

What’s your favourite GenAI project in the works??

“There's a use case in our GenAI program that's close to my heart: It's about inclusion and breaking down lingual barriers through machine translation and enabling our many international colleagues to work together irrespective of their mother tongues.”?
