The Egg - Pre Production (w/c 12/02/24)
Another successful week for the pre-production stage of The Egg. We started last week with a rather damp test shoot at Hartshome Park, to test out some of the harder shots we intend to capture and block where we envision actors will be, as well as figuring out aspects such as where we will put the catering table and set up an area for cast and crew when not involved/on camera.
We were really happy with the look of the shots and have high hopes for the shooting period ahead.
Within my role as producer, this was a great week for planning, as I booked the Airbnb house we will be using within the flashback sequence in our film, to give it an elevated look. This has taken an element of stress out of locating scouting as we have plans to hone in on production design, as the house would be a great asset to work on for the film.
Additionally, I have had a full risk assessment sign off for the project which has put us at ease and we are happy with the locations we have found. Not only this, but I have constantly been gathering information for call sheets which I will be completing in the next week to send out to all cast and crew.
George and I had a call with another actor for the project and we now have all cast in place and happy to be a part of this upcoming film.

To push our social media content and promotion for the film, last week I put posts up for a few of the cast members we have to introduce them and familiarise followers with who to expect on screen.
I have also ordered equipment for set to keep ourselves and cast safe/comfortable (the first aid kit is not pictured but is currently in my car). These are all essential for where we plan to film to minimise accidents and keep equipment dry in the process. We intend on bringing other equipment we already own such as a fold out table, camping chairs and umbrellas.
To end the week, we had a production meeting to talk through production design and costuming which Gemma led and we helped input our ideas, as well as go through our schedules.
Overall, we are really excited to get stuck in with filming and my main aim for this next week is to get started on call sheets and keep in contact with cast.
