Egg Harbor City Man Pleads Guilty to Aggravated Manslaughter on Atlantic City Boardwalk
MAYS LANDING, NJ – On Friday, January 17, 2025, Jahlil Boston, 35, of Egg Harbor City, NJ, pleaded guilty to first degree aggravated manslaughter. ?Pursuant to the plea agreement, Boston agreed to serve 28 years in New Jersey State Prison. ?The prison sentence is subject to the No Early Release Act, which requires the defendant to serve 85% of his sentence before being eligible for parole. ?He will be subject to parole supervision for an additional five years upon his release.
On March 18, 2023, members of the Atlantic City Police Department responded to the 1900 block of the Atlantic City Boardwalk for reports of a male shot. ?Upon officers’ arrival, a 34-year-old male was located suffering from a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased on scene. ?Surveillance footage captured the shooting incident. ?Later that night, Boston was apprehended a few blocks away from the scene in possession of the handgun used to shoot the victim.
Boston remains incarcerated in the Atlantic County Justice Facility. ?He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 12, 2025.
