EGAT inventions win 12 awards from iENA 2022

From nominating research, inventions, and innovations for the International Trade Fair-Ideas, Inventions and New Products (iENA 2022), EGAT has won two gold medals, one silver medal, three bronze medals, and six special awards.
Dr. Jiraporn Sirikum, Deputy Governor – Power Business of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) said that EGAT has strived to create inventions and innovations that enhance the capability of electricity generation and transmission, develop the quality of life of Thai people, and conserve the environment. Recently, EGAT researchers and inventors have won 12 awards for 6 inventions from iENA 2022 held in Nuremberg, Germany, a main international invention and innovation contest in Europe. Among a total of 500 inventions from 26 countries in Europe and Asia nominated for the contest, EGAT’s inventions won two gold medals, one silver medal, three bronze medals, three special awards from Vietnam, one special award from Taiwan, one special award from Poland, and one special award from Iran.
Two gold medals?are received for?Multipurpose Robot for Transmission Line Maintenance?to realign vibration damper without disrupting power supply (It also received the special award from Poland) and?Floating Aquatic Weed Removal Boat for Agricultural Purpose of Communities?which could get rid of water hyacinth of 20,000 kg/ hour. This invention also won the special award from Vietnam.
One silver medal?is received for?Power Plant Efficiency Improvement by Big Data and Machine Learning?which could enhance combustion efficiency of gas turbines and generating capacity of Nam Phong Power Plant,equivalent to an amount of 162.9 million baht/year. It also helps reduce CO2?emissionsof 26,850 tons/year.As a result, it also won a special award from Iran.

Three bronze medals?are received for?Parameter Monitoring System of South Bangkok Power Plant, Block 4 via Mobile Phone,?Capsule Test Kit to Inspect Coliform Bacteria in Drinking Water and Ice, and?Positive and Negative Pressure Swab Cabinet.?The first two inventions also won the special awards from Vietnam, while the last one received the special award from Taiwan.
“Nowadays, technologies and innovations are key for the country’s development. EGAT is ready to promote new inventions that enhance power system security, reduce economic loss, and improve the quality of life of people and environment, to drive Thailand toward sustainability,” added the Deputy Governor.??
