Effortlessly Create the Habits and Motivation to Achieve Goals by Simply Tracking your Daily Wins

I want to talk about achieving your goals much faster and also developing the habits that will support your goal achievement.?

One of the ways to do this is to be aware of any type of wins that you have each day. And all you have to do is track three wins for the day.

If you have something important, or things you want to accomplish like finance, fitness, or with your family, have those goals written down, and possibly your big three goals of the day.?

Anytime you do an activity that moves toward achieving one of those goals, just write it down. That could be in a journal, a notepad. I personally use Google spreadsheet, since it's mobile, accessible and pretty easy for me to access on a regular basis.?

When you start doing this, and tracking your wins, you’ll realize how fun it is. They don't have to be huge wins. For instance, in order to consider it as a win, if you’re in sales, you don’t have to talk to 100? people today. Nor do you have to sign up 10 clients today in order for it to be a win.?

It could be a small action you took, like calling 10 people. Or emailing 30 people today. Question is… “Did I take a small action that moved me toward my goal?”

When you do that, you start to create that identity of the person you need to become to achieve that goal. This works on every conceivable goal.

Track those little wins and simplify them. Don't make them too big, because all you're trying to do is develop a habit.

Once you start doing that, the coolest thing happens in terms of your motivation… which increases. Because now you've trained your mind to become action-oriented toward things that are priorities to you.?

You start to become more aware and notice the little things that you're doing. You start writing them down and checking off the boxes.?

Suddenly, you notice that you’re starting to develop these habits.?

When you continue to get better and better over time, you can start to increasingly add in more complexity or raise your standards.?

Remember that you don't want to start off too big.?

Because new habits can be difficult to maintain, and because your subconscious mind says “ooh,? this is not me, this is difficult and new”, you want to do things that stay under the radar of your defenses (mindset and subconscious), that are aware of your current identity and habits.?

To recap…?

Track your wins, that can be very simple activities that move you towards your goals and help you achieve what’s important to you.?

Before you know it, you're going to progress toward your awesome goals.

You’ll be making great progress, and creating the identity of the person who you want to become.

If you’re overwhelmed and frustrated that life is passing you by, and you have seemingly impossible goals you want to achieve, message or call me.

I like the idea of tracking the small wins. Right now I have a whiteboard where I write my big victories, but those come along so rarely that it's hard to get in the habit. Chunking it down to smaller wins and recording them seems like a better recipe for continuous improvement (not that you shouldn't record your big victories, but that's for a different purpose). One thing someone told me a long time ago was that you should measure your wins against the activities over which you have control. As you mentioned in your article, track whether you made the 10 calls, not whether you made 4 sales. You have control over the former, but not over the latter. Thanks for your wisdom!

Tracking your wins is a simple but bold way to achieve success! Journaling is an important part of it too! Write a few things down that happened during the day that made you think, a cool quote you heard, or an exciting accomplishment that you were a part of or someone shared. It's fun to go back a years later and read about these things and see how far you've come!

What a great lesson Cory Dunham??! I also find when I set a goal, and then celebrate that I completed it, I start to associate feeling good with getting things done....which spurs me to want to do more. When I DON'T get things done, the reverse happens...I dread my to-do list. Making feeling good about getting things done a habit is great advice!
