Effort Vs Results

My friend Anil got a call from his boss at around 9 pm when he was driving back to home from his office. His boss wanted Anil to compile incentive data of three units from him within half an hour as his boss had to give a presentation about new incentive policy to CEO. Anil without hesitation said "Yes Boss" .?Anil had the data of two units but he had no idea about the third unit as third unit was not under his control and to add cherry on the top of this situation ; the HR of the particular unit has recently resigned. Anil stopped his car , took a fag break and called Unit Head of that unit. He gave the no of his MIS executive who is currently charge of that unit in the absence of HR but when Anil called that MIS person , he had already reached his house, and his house was too far away from the factory. So, to get the data within thirty minutes is impossible task. Boss called Anil after 15 minutes to take update. Anil firmly confirmed - "Yes Boss you will get it soon". Within 1 hour he complied all the data of three units and sent him.

Anil's boss gave a brilliant presentation infront of CEO . CEO was splendbounded ?by his presentation and formulated an Unique incentive policy to boost Production at shop floor from the next financial year.

Anil boss had been promoted from HR Manager to Head Hr and Anil had been promoted from Sr Executive to Manager HR.

Anil has spent around three years from that incident in the company, but till now company has not been able to live that incentive policy.

I querioisly asked Anil " How you had retrieved the missing data in that night ".

Anil laughed "Simply Dinesh copy paste the existing available with me . See I was very much sure at that night that my boss's only requirement was to get a compiled data not the correct data. He also knew that correct data was not possible , he wanted some data so that he can manage. I had provided the same. Effort matters a lot than results".
