Efficiency in Action: From Ghosting to Daily Boosts and Team Respect
I've loved being efficient and effective since ever; I think, it's just in my blood.
I am also someone who likes to “cut the bullshit” and who finds it challenging to understand why some managers or team members (always claiming to be too busy) resort to ghosting when their actions are (urgently) needed!?
Business (I am not talking about public admin here) is a fast-moving world, where lightning-quick communication is the holy grail. Whether you're a leader, part of the team, or reporting to a boss.?
Have you ever considered that responding promptly to emails / msgs / calls could be a simple; yet crucial step toward increasing efficiency and effectiveness in your company? ?? Your reply, reaction, call… or email speedometer can make or break the workplace vibe. Yes, simply like this.?
Why?
1. Domino Effect ?
The action-reaction concept is crucial in communication. Every email or message starts a chain reaction. Without action - you can not expect a reaction.??
–> A prompt answer not only confirms receipt but also starts a productive working relationship. "Not only does everybody/somebody else need to react, but you need to take action!"
2. The Team's Heartbeat
Quick email responses foster a sense of operational efficiency within a team. Members of the team are made to feel important, which promotes a cooperative atmosphere where information and ideas flow easily.?
–> A prompt response time keeps the team moving forward and keeps all members in sync as they work toward common goals and improves effectiveness.?
4. Building Trust
Quick and smart replies demonstrate your reliability, responsibility, and proactive approach. Just like you, others are managing a full plate and your responsiveness helps in maintaining efficient workflows.?
→ ?It establishes trust and confidence in your capacity to complete assignments on time.
5. Ghosting ???
On the other hand… delayed responses or worse, ignoring messages, can lead to misunderstandings, project delays, and breakdowns in communication.?
→? It generates frustration and slows down progress. In a professional setting, leaving messages unanswered shows a lack of commitment, respect, and interest in the team's success.

5. The Art of Quick Reply?
Being quick to respond does not have to mean being impulsive. In my career CEOs had different response speeds: 5 mins, 1 hr, 24 hrs, or radio silence with a hint of delay.?
→ Response ≠ essay. Sometimes, it's just a yes, no, brb, ??, or a 'ask someone else' dance.
→ Do not have time to write? Pick up the phone, call!?
6. Getting Past Obstacles
Meeting expectations doesn't mean compromising on quality. Rather It calls for effective time management and communication skills.?
→ Set priorities, allocate specific times to reply/call, and establish clear expectations for response times within your team or with your manager.
For me… it’s just another day in the office. Sitting behind my screen, drowning in meetings (like most of my peers), the red light blinks like a persistent alarm. Ten messages with my name attached scream for attention. Should I speed through these messages or hit the brakes on tasks??
Those ten messages patiently waiting for my attention in my inbox, MS teams - are not just notifications but opportunities with a person behind them. Imo - not only it's polite to reply quickly, but it's also a strategic move. I have learned that every response improves cooperation, and builds trust, efficient communication, and action. That's why after a few calls, I open my email / teams, ready to write a thoughtful response that will contribute to the success and efficiency of our company's overall rhythm."
In a snap: Yes, I love action and I hate being ghosted! Who wants to eat dust? Not me, and probably neither you. Lets respect our team and peers and rev up the efficiency!?
Thank you for reading.?
