Flow characteristics of fluid forces and vortex shedding frequency have been dramatically changed by the side ratio of rectangular #prisms. The present study aims to improve the increment and stability of the response amplitude and the decrement of the vibration’s starting velocity by modifying the prism shape. The effects of length (aspect ratio) and the size of the additional structure (a plate and a fin) attached to the surface of a rectangular prism on the transverse vibration characteristics of cantilevered rectangular prisms with a side ratio of D/H ≤ 0.5 have been investigated experimentally in a water tunnel. #Flow_Induced_Vibration #Aspect_Ratio
