An Effective Way of Turning The Eyeballs on Your Content into Paying Clients

Use This Simple Strategy To Increase Conversions Rate and Profit

Although we are still in the early stages of the creator economy, attracting attention in the sea of digital content is becoming more challenging. Attention is a new currency.

But what if, after putting so much effort into creating your fantastic content, nothing happens? People like your content, comment, and genuinely engage, but it does not translate into getting new clients.

It is a truly missed opportunity.

Even if you create the most outstanding content, you must communicate what they should do next. If you don't communicate that information clearly, they may never return and go to someone else who perfected this simple method.

In this article, I will share a simple way of turning attention into paying clients.

The secret weapon of content marketing

A Call to Action (CTA) is a clear and short statement that tells your audience exactly what you want them to do after reading your content. It's the bridge between the information you provide and the desired action.

Most people associate CTAs only with selling, but CTAs can be anything:

  • DMing you
  • Clicking on the video or a link
  • Signing up for your newsletter
  • Downloading your lead magnet
  • Participating in a workshop or masterclass
  • Encouraging readers to follow or connect with you on social media

Why is CTA important in content marketing?

A CTA is not just a fancy marketing term. Here is why a relevant CTA is essential for the success of your marketing efforts:

  • Clarity and Direction: A CTA eliminates confusion, provides clear guidance on the next steps, and thus facilitates audience engagement.
  • Boosts Conversions: A well-crafted CTA directs their attention towards becoming clients or engaging further.
  • Measures Success: Tracking CTA clicks or conversions enables assessment of content effectiveness in achieving marketing goals, facilitating refinement and improvement strategies.

How Does a CTA Guide Viewers Towards Becoming Clients?

Imagine you wrote a fantastic blog post about ¨5 Best Ways of Using AI in Growing a Creator Business From 5 K to 10 K per Month¨. You shared all your secrets of 6 years of building an online venture. But without a clear CTA, readers will move on somewhere else because they do not know what to do after consuming your content.

Here's how a CTA overcomes the gap:

  • Offer a solution. Your CTA can be like ¨Dowload the list of 5 top AI tools for content creators¨ This directly addresses the pain point of not knowing which AI tools are the most useful for content creators and offers the knowledge and resources.
  • Create an urgency. ¨Limited spots left on our upcoming AI tools workshop¨. This CTA adds a sense of urgency and scarcity, encouraging users to sign up before it's too late.
  • Highlight the benefits. ¨Book a consultation and learn what prompts to use to create social media posts for 30 days in 10 minutes ¨. Focusing on the benefits (creating social media posts for 30 days in 10 minutes) makes it more appealing than just another service (consultation).

Crafting the Perfect CTA

You don't have to become the best copywriter. Just follow these 3 steps to master creating top-notch CTAs.

  1. Identify your target group and give a value proposition. For example ¨if you are a founder who wants to grow by thousands of followers per month¨ or ¨if you are a creator who wants to make 10 K per month¨.
  2. Prompt them to take an action. Some examples:¨DM me this keyword¨, ¨click here¨ or ¨comment this keyword below¨.
  3. Use social proof. Attach a picture of the results you've gotten for clients or the number of clients you've worked with.

Keep it quick, simple, and straightforward about what they must do next.

For example:¨If you are an entrepreneur who wants to grow to 10 K followers as fast as possible on LinkedIn, click on the first link in the comment and get a step-by-step guide now. I have been able to help beginners go from none to thousands of followers in a couple of months¨.

It is all about location.

Your CTA's effectiveness is heavily influenced by its placement, just as it is in real estate. Here's where to strategically place CTAs based on your content format.

Social media

  • Pin the post with a strong CTA to your profile for constant visibility.
  • Story CTAs. Use features like ¨poll¨ to encourage engagement and action within stories.
  • Use CTAs in comments. When responding to comments, use CTAs to direct people to relevant resources.

Videos

  • Verbally. Throughout the video, the viewers are reminded about the CTA and its benefits.
  • Visually. Use clear call-to-action overlays with vivid colors and text.
  • Description. Include a CTA and a clickable link in the video description.

Blog posts

  • Beginning. Introduce your solution with CTA to bring awareness (like ¨Download our free guide at the end of the post for content marketing strategies ¨.
  • Midway. After a particularly interesting section, include a relevant CTA (e.g., Register for our free webinar").
  • Ending. Conclude with a clear and powerful call to action summarizing the major advantage (like "Get started today! Sign up for our content marketing training.").

CTA guides through your sales funnel

While every CTA is powerful, it is just one piece of the puzzle. To convert your viewers into loyal clients, you need a strategic framework called a sales funnel.

Every piece of content you create is a part of the sales funnel.

CTAs serve as guides, directing visitors through the various stages of the funnel.

  • In the first (awareness stage), you aim to grab attention and introduce yourself and your expertise. So, CTAs should reflect the stage of the customer journey. For example:¨Download our free eBook on 5 most effective content marketing strategies" or ¨ Subscribe for free weekly content on building one person's business."
  • In the second (interest stage), viewers will be aware of your solution and want to learn more. So create CTAs accordingly like, ¨Watch our webinar on creating a perfect LinkedIn profile to attract clients ¨ or ¨Get a free trial of our software¨.
  • In the third (conversion stage), viewers are prepared to decide and compare choices. You can use CTAs ¨Book a free consultation" or ¨Get a personalized quote."

Use CTAs sequences

For the best results, string several CTAs together. This creates a sequence that naturally leads through the funnel.

If your initial goal is to capture a new lead (email address in exchange for the lead magnet), use CTA in a blog post first: ¨Download our free checklist: 5 steps to a winning marketing strategy ¨

Once you capture an email address, write an automated welcome email sequence of 5–6 emails. Use CTAs in every single one of them. It can be anything from connecting with you on social media to booking a consultation.

People who download a lead magnet are most excited and engaged in a new journey with you. This is your unique chance to help them and make money.

Do you remember to add CTA to every piece of content?
