Effective Content Writing: My Views
In this article, I am going to discuss how according to me write a blog effectively.
Platform: The first thing we should observe is what is the platform we are on. It may be a company's blog and should be written in a formal way or It may be a personal blog and should be written casually.
Audience: Before start writing any blog, we should always think of our audience. Content may be different depending on their:
- Gender
- Age
- Location
- Profession
So, always know your target audience
Relevance: We should always check if our topic is relevant to the website or not and the target audience. For example, if a website is about gadgets and the audience of age group 20-35 visits the website, you cannot expect a blog on the law would be read by many. The content may be the best but is not relevant to the websites.
Topic: We can choose any topic we want but we should always make sure that we have complete knowledge about the topic and should always have relevant data to back our content.
Tone: It is a very important part of your content as it is one of the ways a writer emotionally connects with the reader.
We have checked all the above points and are now ready to dive into the content.
You need attention: We should always think of a way to get the attention of your visitor and we need to get it at the beginning of your content. I for example always try to start with a statement that is unexpected by my visitor and I always highlight the statement but beware of the statement you choose because it is like a double-edged sword and you always have to justify your statement. Always remember we want our reader to be satisfied so that he returns. Let me link one of my content for a better understanding.

Define your topic: This one is up to you because if you are giving your opinion about a topic then you may not need to explain it but if you are discussing a topic, always explain it. You do not know if your reader knows about the topic or not and you don't want your reader to lose interest while reading the blog.
Language: Keep the language of your content simple. Again, you want your reader to be satisfied and always remember you may be Shakespeare, but your reader is not. Therefore, use easy to understand language.
Complete Information: Make sure that you are conveying complete information to your readers and back it up with your data. Incomplete data may harm your reader in two ways, one, he may get confused and two, he gets meaning other than your intended one.
A satisfactory Ending: You may have heard "All is well if the ending is well". Believe me, this statement is true because when a reader reads a content, he/she has certain expectations in their mind regarding the content, and a writer should always meet their expectations. For example, imagine you read a very good adventure story and the story ends at a note "then he woke up from his dream". Now, tell me as a reader won't you feel cheated or disheartened? and will you ever go for the same writer again? Same here.
Now we know all about our content. Let us now talk about the structure of our content:
Title: Your content should always have a title because it is the first thing your reader. Use a well-formatted eye-catching title.
Headings and Subheadings: We should always use headings and sub-headings as it helps our reader to distinguish between different part of our content and also helps in SEO
Paragraphs: Use paragraphs accordingly as it gives your content an appropriate structure and helps the reader to take proper breaks
Highlight: Always highlight the important points in your content. After reading your content, the reader may want to recall the important points he has read in your content
Word limit: Remember you are not writing a book, nor you are writing a two-liners and therefore, you should always know your word limit. It may vary depending on your blog and audience.
Finally, let us now talk about SEO:
Keyword density: Make sure that you are not using your keyword more than required because it may lead to spamming and bad ranking for your content.
Backlinks: Use backlinks on the appropriate keyword and make sure you are not using two different links for the same keyword in the same content.
Images: If your content has images make sure you are giving it proper tags and Alternate Tags.
These are the major points according to me one should always keep in their mind for writing a content
