EFECS 2024, Quantum Calls and BMR 2024
The Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU) recently marked its first anniversary. Over the past year, the JU has launched several key initiatives with the goal of advancing Europe’s semiconductor ecosystem. In this edition of the Chips Pulse, we provide an important update on the Chips JU calls, upcoming events and information on the Biennial Monitoring Report (BMR) 2024, which highlights key partnerships like the Chips JU.
The registration for the ?European Forum for Electronic Components and Systems (EFECS) is open!
Taking place in the historic city of Ghent, Belgium, on 5-6 December 2024, this event brings together industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and innovators to strengthen Europe’s strategic leadership in semiconductor technology.
What to Expect:
The Chips JU has launched several initiatives to strengthen Europe’s semiconductor ecosystem, such as calls for pilot lines, research and innovation activities, and the recently closed calls for competence centres, a network of competence centres, and design platform.
In addition to these initiatives, the Chips JU has also opened new calls focused on quantum technologies, which will pave the way for the establishment of a manufacturing supply chain of quantum chips in Europe.
Quantum Chip Technology for Stability Pilots
This call seeks proposals for the development of new pilot lines capable of producing quantum chips, or the adaptation and expansion of existing pilot lines in view of producing quantum chips. Find out more.
Quantum Chip Technology for High-Quality Trapped Ions Pilots
This call seeks to develop chip-based ion-trap technologies within Europe, leveraging European designs and fabrication capabilities to ensure sovereignty and lead in ion-trap quantum technologies. Find out more.
The EU Agencies Network Exhibition, held from 1-3 October 2024, at the European Parliament, showcased how EU Agencies and Joint Undertakings contribute to turning policy priorities into tangible benefits for citizens.
The exhibition featured expert discussions, and a special reception took place on October 1. It was an excellent opportunity for members of the European Parliament learn more about the impactful work of the Chips Joint Undertaking. For more details, visit www.euagencies.eu.
