Eerily Quiet

So technically end of our three weeks of lock down only looks like its going to be extended. I am not much for over sharing, British Stiff upper lip and all that, but I must admit to feeling rather down at present. It’s so beautiful outside and I want to immerse myself in it, want to spend as much time as possible outside enjoying our wonderful open spaces, but also want to support the rallying call to save lives so sticking rigidly to the rules. Went out the other night and took this photo, you can’t really make it out but at the bottom of the hill is the M5 motorway, and to say it was eerily quiet was an understatement. I could have set up my picnic table on it and commenced a three-course lunch with the limited risk of perhaps having to move my chair from the outside lane to the middle lane between my steak and chip and cream tea. On Good Friday I had to check on our church building and that was even stranger as the silence was deafening. It too has been locked down as per instructions. Everything left as it was and yet nothing like what it was, must have been a similar feeling to the men jumping aboard the Marie Celeste back in 1872. Oh well week four here we come. Do take good care out there and take the chance to breathe in the wonderful spring air, there are far to many wonderful souls that can no longer enjoy such simple pleasures.
