1. J&M Industries to Pay $105,000 for Age Discrimination

- J&M Industries, based in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, will pay $105,000 to settle an age discrimination lawsuit.

- The EEOC alleged that the company violated federal law by terminating an employee for refusing to retire at the age of 65.

2. Blackwell Security Services Settles Religious Discrimination for $70,000

- Blackwell Security Services, Inc., based in Chicago, will pay $70,000 to settle a religious discrimination lawsuit.

- The EEOC claimed the company failed to accommodate an employee's religious practices, forcing him to choose between his faith and employment.

3. Library Hotel Resolves Disability Discrimination for $42,000

- 299 Madison Ave. LLC, operating as Library Hotel in New York City, will pay $42,000 to resolve a disability discrimination lawsuit.

- The EEOC asserted that the hotel discriminated against a former front desk employee based on disability.

4. Maryland Department of Transportation Settles Sex Discrimination for $40,000

- Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will pay $40,000 to settle an equal pay lawsuit.

- The EEOC alleged that the agency paid a male district community liaison lower wages than his female counterparts.

5. Medsurant Health Addresses Sex Discrimination with $80,000 Settlement

- Medsurant Holdings, LLC, a healthcare services company in Pennsylvania, will pay $80,000 to settle a sex discrimination lawsuit.

- The EEOC claimed the company paid a female employee less than her male coworkers for similar work.

6. Cash Depot Settles Disability Discrimination for $55,000

- Cash Depot, LTD, a Wisconsin-based ATM service provider, will pay $55,000 to settle a disability discrimination lawsuit.

- The EEOC asserted that the company refused to accommodate a field service technician after a stroke.

7. Werner Enterprises Ordered to Pay Deaf Driver $335,682

- Werner Enterprises, Inc. and Drivers Management, LLC must pay $335,682 to a deaf truck driver after an Omaha jury found in favor of the EEOC on disability discrimination claims.

8. Walmart Resolves Sex Discrimination for $60,000

- Walmart will pay $60,000 to settle a sex discrimination lawsuit, addressing allegations of refusing to promote an employee based on sex stereotypes.

9. Autos of Dallas Settles Race Discrimination Suit for $22,500

- AOD Ventures, Inc., doing business as Autos of Dallas, will pay $22,500 to settle a race discrimination lawsuit filed by the EEOC.
