No real news yesterday regarding Dr. Deming.

So from an organizational perspective you always want to start with results … When we look at the results that we’re achieving — and when I talk about results it’s really results for kids — academic results. Those are the results that are most significant for us and so if the design of the organization is creating the right type of results, then we have the right design.”
W. Edwards Deming pioneered 70 years ago. Deming's System of Profound Knowledge is the antidote, but few understand how it applies to cybersecurity. It can make work-life balance better for cyber pros and better protect people from danger. Cybersecurity does not need to lag other disciplines by decades. Consider all the Indian universities that reference Deming.
Given how much code is reused, it’s critical that companies can trust the software components they are using in their products. Using another auto analogy, the software supply chain issue can be solved by following manufacturing process principles that helped Japanese auto manufacturers sell high-quality, affordable cars without sacrificing efficiency. Specifically, American engineer and university professor Edwards Deming counseled them to: Know your suppliers, use high-quality parts, resolve defects early and don’t pass them on, and continuously track the parts you use and where you use them. Those same principles are directly translatable to software.
