Edufun Technik Lead Action for Community Development

On?Friday, January 24, 2025, Edufun Technik proudly led the charge in co-hosting a groundbreaking community event as?Ashoka Africa?set foot in Onitsha to launch the?Changemaker Initiative—a transformative movement tagged?"Changemakers for Culture and Education."

The event, which brought together over?40 youths and secondary school students, was a beacon of inspiration, fostering discussions on innovation, leadership, and social change.

Speaking at the event,?Mr. Ozii Baba Anieto, co-convener and leader of the?Obaji Community, commended?Ashoka Africa?for bringing the changemaker idea to the youth. He emphasized the importance of engaging young people who are already taking on various social responsibilities within their communities.

Leading the visiting?Ashoka Africa?team,?Mr. Okey Uzoechina?shed light on the organization’s?44-year global impact, spanning?95 countries?in supporting visionary social entrepreneurs, students, educators, and young leaders. He highlighted Ashoka’s mission to inspire individuals, state actors, and communities to embrace?cognitive empathy, sophisticated teamwork, new leadership, and changemaking—key principles in today’s fast-evolving world.

The event wasn’t just about discussions. Attendees were captivated by a powerful Spoken Word performance by Melvis Ugo, followed by interactive sessions and networking opportunities, creating an atmosphere of inspiration and collaboration.

The momentum continued the next day,?Saturday, January 25, 2025, as?Edufun Technik’s Robotics Team?embarked on a community outreach visit to?Royal Ambassadors Foundation School, Onitsha.

Staying true to its mission of bridging the STEM equity gap, the team introduced students to the limitless possibilities within?Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

For many of the students, this was a?first-time encounter?with robotics and technology, and their excitement was unmistakable. The event emphasized that?STEM education is for everyone, regardless of background or location. By providing access to?STEM tutors and technology, Edufun Technik is ensuring that no child is left behind in the digital revolution.
