Educators and Theory X and Theory Y attitude groups

A good #educator teaches the #subject matter, so the students acquire the knowledge being taught. A great educator challenges the students to both to #learn the subject matter and to actively #think about the subject so they can form their own #understanding of it regardless of what the subject matter is while also giving the #student the #tools and #support #necessary to do so. If all educators could do this well, the #general #population would be much better at #criticalthinking , which is #essential for a #functioning #freesociety and #democracy .

I believe I also have a #unique #interpretation of the two #attitude #groups as described (Daft, 2018).?“Two attitude groups that people are usually grouped into include #Theory X and Theory Y. Theory X is the #assumption that #people are not #motivated and are therefore #lazy, and Theory Y is the assumption that people will be #committed to #work that they care about (#Daft, 2018).?

“It is my theory that there exists a #grey area between these two that is #nonbinary . ?In this grey area are people who are not motivated and are naturally lazy but #xercise an #intense #workethic even without a #commitment to the work or #job they hold, which results in having a highly #competent work #outcome so that they do not have to redo the work. Vernacularly, their #efforts could be phrased as “I am the hardest working lazy person. I do the job as well as I can as fast as I can so that I finish it and do not have to redo it.” In effect, this means this person puts the same or more #effort into completing their #tasks well to avoid having to redo the tasks even without a commitment or even liking their work.
