Educational Transparency

I do not have time for confusion, yet confusion is my career. I teach to clear up confusion every single day. I have taught English for seven years and currently I am teaching Math.

My ebook is here because I wanted 2016 to be MY year; The year that all I have taught and all I have learned comes together and shows me exactly the purpose of my life. I am a writer. When I write I try not to explain. I just tell you what I know and let you decide if it is fact or opinion. My first book is nonfiction. I do not have a foreword, afterword, preface, or a dedication page. I just wanted a book that would show up when I searched my name on Amazon; "Sundra M. Smith". I would really like you to read it.

It is a bit choppy, but I believe it is eye-opening. It is worth your while. Truly,  I think everyone should read it. It will inspire you to be a better writer...or a writer if you are not one already. I want everyone to write. Why? because I want to get to know you. I am nosey. I want to know who you are and why you are here. Why am I sharing this earth with you? You can help me. I can help you. You don't give yourself enough credit. Your legacy lies in your unfulfilled dreams.

Additionally, I am very astute at grammar. I know the difference between "to" and "too" and "there" and "they're." I cringe when I see them used interchangeably. Math is another skill I have acquired lately. Slope (or M) equals y2-y1 divided by x2-x1. Just plug in the ordered pairs (such as (1,2) and (3,1) from the coordinate grid  (graph) to get the answer. Finding the slope tells you the exact steepness of a line. Financial Literacy is also apart of the curriculum now. To find the simple interest total for a loan all you need to do is use the formula I=PRT.I is interest. P is Principle. T is time. For example, if you are looking to take out a $150,000 loan for a term of 30 years at 4% interest just calculate I=150,000 x.04 x 30 to see what the total interest would be. By the way, the answer is $180,000. Most banks utilize compound interest. The formula for compound interest is A=P(1+r)2 and when investing you earn more when compound interest is used over simple interest and do you know how to solve for X? If the equation is 4x+10=20 just isolate the variable by taking 10 from the left and right side of the equation. Then you will  have 4x=10. Then you need to divide by 4 to further isolate the variable... 4/4 =x and 10/4=5 so x equals 2.5. See? Easy. If I can do it, anybody can. I don't even like Math. 

 Today, I begged 8th graders to listen to me. I am so tired right now, but I must stay awake and post this because I wrote an ebook and it is now available to read. They have a state test Monday...the kids, I mean.  I gave them two review packets, links to learning websites, two Starbursts candies and said, "Good luck on your test" with the best smile I could muster up. I hope they will study this weekend. They always laugh when I tell them "Study, study, study".  They tell me, "Ain't nobody got time for that, Miss. It's the weekend." It is hard to give to someone when they have a closed fist. No longer do I give out paper and pencils. It is futile. A bad teacher sets no expectations and hands everything out for free. I used to ask questions, then answer them myself and give pencils and paper everyday. I was the student. They were the reluctant bystanders telling me everyday how annoying I am for expecting them to work or at least try to understand a learning objective.

After posting this I think I will order more business cards. I need to network, expand my sphere of influence. I am growing old, I will be forty in just a few years. I do not have time for excuses. No more time available to waste. Everyday is an opportunity to get better at something. I like being productive every waking moment. Wasted time can never be regain. Last week I wrote a book. It is in ebook format. I compiled a few of my college papers and artifacts. It was a fun project. It is FREE (for a limited time)! Please read it and add a review to Amazon.
