As a leading lecturer in educational technology, I am redefining the future of teaching and learning. At the Faculty of Education & Liberal Studies (FOELS), City University Malaysia, I play a key role in the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and Master of Education (MED) programs, where I passionately guide the next generation of educators. My expertise is reflected in the subjects I teach, including Web-based and Distance Learning, Technology and Innovation in Education, and Research in Instructional Design. My innovative teaching methods are designed to ensure that my students not only learn but thrive with the advanced technological skills that are crucial in today’s ever-evolving educational landscape. My commitment to pushing the boundaries of educational technology is exemplified by my award-winning work, including a gold medal at the International University Carnival on e-Learning (IUCEL) Competition for my groundbreaking contributions to e-Learning. With a focus on equipping my students with the tools and knowledge needed to excel, I strive to be a driving force in shaping the future of education.

Pioneering Modern Pedagogy

Beyond my classroom duties, I am a passionate advocate for e-Portfolios, which align with my PhD research focused on equipping future-ready graduates. I consider e-Portfolios crucial for enhancing learning experiences, providing students with essential tools for job applications and self-assessment. My teaching philosophy integrates cybergogy, which blends online learning with interactive and collaborative tools, and heutagogy, which emphasizes self-determined learning. By adopting heutagogy, I encourage my students to take ownership of their learning journeys, fostering autonomy and critical thinking. At the same time, I value traditional classroom interactions for their role in holistic development. This balanced approach ensures that my students engage comprehensively with their studies across both digital and physical realms, preparing them to be adaptable, lifelong learners capable of thriving in a rapidly changing world.

Balancing my roles as an educator, student, new mother, wife, and daughter has taught me invaluable lessons in time management, empathy, and resilience.
