EDUCATION & THE WORK FORCE GAP

Is the gap between education and the workforce widening? This question really hits home for me. If you take a moment to dive into the research, it’s pretty discouraging. Sure, having a degree typically doubles your income potential, but where's the accountability when college costs keep dragging on long after graduation? Now, add the speed of technology to the mix—business moves faster than ever, but our education system can’t keep up.

Take a step back and look at the timeline of world history. Right now, we’re at a pivotal moment. Our methods of consuming education are far from meeting the demands of today’s fast-paced business environment. And yet, no one is addressing this disconnect.

It’s clear—this is a massive moment in history, and while organizations focus on their needs from the top down, we’re overlooking the bottom-up perspective.

What about the new employees walking through the door with minimal experience? Ignored because of age and lack of experience, do we really expect them to stay? Or will they quickly strike out on their own? These issues are all becoming intertwined, but no one seems to be stating the obvious. It’s beyond time for change.

We need to rethink education. We need to speed it up, level the playing field, and reward those who push boundaries—not just the most well-liked employees.

I know I’ve spotlighted a lot of issues, but what if there was a solution?

What if we could create an affordable, accredited education platform that costs less than your monthly coffee habit? A platform that doesn’t leave graduates burdened by debt. Imagine education powered by community, networking, and mentorship. What if this could trigger an international shift, opening up opportunities globally?

This is my personal mission. I believe that if we offer education to underserved populations—like single parents, homeschooled kids, and long-time career professionals who feel underappreciated—we could reduce debt, create more stable homes, and build a better future for the next generation.

Personally, I relate to these groups. By most standards, I’m considered “unemployable.” And that’s okay, because I’m all in on my mission. As a single mom and a 20-year entrepreneur, my resume would probably get tossed aside. Why? Because corporations still cling to the outdated idea that a one-page resume defines a person’s worth.

But what if we redefined education? What if we implemented on-demand learning, accessible at any age? What if we reached the populations that have been left behind by traditional education? This is the vision, and I’m here to make it happen.
