Ann Arbour to release a bi-monthly webinar series

The Ontario/Alberta-based immigration company is set to start production on a series of webinars. They are hoping to launch the first one next month. The series will be entitled, “Ann Arbour’s essentials to hiring foreign talent.”

The webinar will focus on the nitty-gritty and ins and outs of placing foreign workers in Canadian companies. Specifically, the webinars will explain the benefits that companies and Canada receive from hiring foreign talent and how the overall procedure works.

Ann Arbour provides a dual service. They provide a service for those who want to come live and work in Canada and a service for companies that are in need of employees to fill positions.

The webinars will be hosted by Sharmila Perera, CEO of Ann Arbour. She has over 15 years of experience in placing foreign talent at various workplaces across the country. She is an immigrant herself who has survived the hardships of setting up her own business in a foreign country and therefore, can relate to both business owners as well as the employees immigrating.

She became passionate about this field after working in immigration law for a number of years. She found that providing immigrants with the chance to come to Canada and have a job waiting for them made it so much easier for them to succeed in the foreign land.

“It is an incredible rewarding experience to see my clients succeed so well and to hear from my corporate clients what wonderful employees they have been. It is not often that we hear anything negative about any of our placed candidates,” she says.

That being said, Perera is prepared to cover all the basic fundamentals, as well as the complexities associated with bringing in foreign talent. She wants to help educate business owners about the process and the many benefits of hiring new immigrants. She ultimately doesn’t want companies to be stuck in a situation where they are constantly waiting for suitable candidates. She clarifies that there are many talented and skilled individuals looking to come to this country and work diligently.

Above all, this webinar series is for employers who mainly run medium to large companies, can’t locate the correct individuals inside Canada, and need to fill positions. The series will also go into the differences between non-skilled, semi-skilled, and highly-skilled employees.

An interactive Q&A session will conclude each webinar and will give viewers a chance to engage with the presented information. Viewers will get the opportunity to share some of their personal stories with Perera and the rest of the audience. Others in the immigration industry will also serve as guest hosts for some episodes.

All in all, Ann Arbour and Sharmila Perera’s ultimate goal is to make the hiring process a lot simpler for business owners. She will also make sure to go through the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) Process, which is mandatory when hiring foreign talent, unless an employer is sponsoring the employee through a Provincial Nomination Process. In addition, she will outline the advantages and disadvantages of all the steps in the process.

Ann Arbour is excited to be running a series of webinars later this year and continuing into 2018. The company is ready and prepared to help businesses through every step of the hiring process.
