Smiles all around at Dubai school as UAE's Covid mask rules are eased.
Staff and pupils have spoken of their joy as a?long-standing mask mandate?was lifted at schools across the Emirates on Wednesday.
It was a sight to behold for many in the education sector — which was greatly disrupted?by the pandemic?— as uncovered faces were on show in classrooms for the first time in more than 900 days.
The National?visited Brighton College Dubai as the relaxed?Covid-19 safety measures?were welcomed with beaming smiles.

Don’t get me wrong, and I support teachers putting themselves first in what feels increasingly like a thankless system. One way to defuse some of the costs? Throw a teacher shower.
Similar to parties for an upcoming marriage or a new baby, teacher showers are gift-giving events designed to celebrate a new teacher and supply them with the classroom decorations they need. Some new teachers invite only their family and friends, while others invite mentor teachers, including those who worked with them during their student-teaching experience or colleagues at their new school. Meet the 12-year-old believed to be the youngest university student in UAE
A 12-year-old pupil in Dubai is believed to be the youngest person to be accepted by a university in the UAE.

Adam El Rafey is a freshman at the?University of Wollongong in Dubai, the youngest to ever matriculate at the school.
He will study a media course at the university while finishing his studies at Jumeirah English Speaking School.
Ever since he was in Year Four, he has been attending both?primary and secondary school,?and studies advanced physics, chemistry and biology with pupils who are four to six years older than him. Click to read more.
