Education Mastermind and Game Changer

Another season in school with COVID-19 impacting regular education. Those students who will finalize school right now, have performed remarkable under these unique circumstances.

Now the challenge remains, FINDING YOUR CAREER, regardless if COVID is present or we have regular conditions, hopefully soon again.

I have devoted this phase of my career to helping young students finding their personal direction towards a "best-fit" career and education that builds their foundation in life.

The possibilities today are sheer infinite and partly confusing .

Just the below shortened list of options may be overwhelming for many of you:

• Corporate apprenticeship opportunities
• Traditional college/university Bachelor/Master/PhD
• Self-education / online / classroom style / hybrid
• Certificate programs (e.g. Nanodegree at Udacity, Software Developer at School 42, ...)
• Dual education - combining corporate programs with a Bachelor education
• StartUp creation
• Studying abroad
• Taking a leap-year with internships, work & travel options
• ... many more ...

Young adults are facing a complex situation to make a personal determination. Adding private factors with family, geography, economic status, tradition, personal preferences, relationships etc. to this mix, the decision space, meaning the infinite number of solution optio

Allow me to share some perspective with the following core framework that every person should be aware of.

Each individual has enormous POTENTIAL. Unleashing it over the course of a lifetime is the mother of arts of living. Important to understand is the key, that only ACTIONS will provide results that will reveal clarity, success, learning and more. These results will form confidence and belief and strengthen your personality to unfold even more potential over time. Results can be perceived as negative - as long as you learn from it, you will grow.

In my efforts to build some dedicated programs for students and parents to help finding the "best-fit" education and career, I have determined four priority "areas of importance" to look at simultaneously to build up your personal profile and strategy for your education and career - PITA in short.

#Personality - understanding your intrinsic motivation, your values, your talents and your emotions will guide you reliably to your preferences.

#Information / Knowledge - having the complete information and knowledge around today’s opportunities in career and education is key to prepare informed decisions.

#Tools - understanding the value of personality assessments, limbic profiles, studying abroad checklists, just to nominate a few, will simplify bringing knowledge and information to ACTION.

#Action - is the master discipline for any success happening in your life. Only if you actively try and practice something, you can determine if it is for YOU. The premium to ACTION is #REPETITION - then you start forming routines and habits that will lead you to success.

You will only know if you are able to do something, if you have actively and seriously tried it.

All the PITA elements are equally important and will be the cornerstones of my programs for students to help them form their choices based on their individual profiles and situations. I do intend to offer three timelines, aside from informational parent and student workshops to provide orientation (Feedback in the comments very welcome)-

• 30 days GlobeWorld Education Challenge for people on a fast-track decision cycle, who need to get quick trigger and impulses to take an informed decision.
• 90 days GlobeWorld Education / Career Game Changer program that will allow deeper dives into your personality and motives, education options and learn high level on all available options.
• 6-month GlobeWorld Discovery Journey - ideally in parallel to school education in grades 10-12 - this will be an organic curriculum where students have enough time to learn about their individual strengths and personality as well as motives/values plus get a comprehensive knowledge base with personal/soft skills, education options, including studying abroad and plenty of opportunity to perform individual assessments that provide the basis for a lifelong personality profile, enabling a successful career and balance in life - more important than ever. Personal study assignments will form habits and motivate repetition as key learnings.

The goal is to form a basis for a maximum certain personal education and career decision in the context of balanced life models.

Failing a first-time decision, realizing that this is not "your cup ot tea" is no disaster at all, still holds the chances of a dent in your self-esteem or lost motivation. To deal with such situations, how to recover, will be integral part of my programs, as it is a life saver if you will become mature therein.

Just an example - 2019/20 in Germany, 42% of students in first semester in natural science (including mathematics) changed their education subject or abandoned studying within the first year!

Studying abroad

The more globalization becomes a reality and large companies operate globally and internationally, the more career opportunities will be found in this space.

What better choice than an international education can prepare a young student for such scenario?

I have drawn up a scenario as an example for American High School graduates to consider studying in Europe.

Just to highlight a few benefits of such approach:

• Europe has predominantly 3-year Bachelor programs, that save American students a full year.
• Tuition structure in Europe ranges substantially lower (some charge only an administrative admission) compared to North America - savings of 30.000 to 50.000 US Dollars are reasonably achievable.
• The special GlobeWorld Year 4 program - including a 6-8 months trainee program performed in a secondary language of your choice with an international company in Europe, planning, budgeting and executing a 2-month Around the World trip, writing a (e)book/blog on this life changing experience while travelling plus attending a personal/soft skill boot camp for 6 to 8 weeks will boost your certainty and self-esteem.

When I talk to my friends in the US, some accepted my serious bet for their children that students performing such 4-year program abroad in Europe will start with 20-30% higher salaries in their first job assignment, aside from a fact having broader and faster job opportunities in the global market.

No worries, Moms of the World (and some Dads), the emotional side of letting your child go into the World and put perceived light-years in distance between Home and Abroad will be handled for both of you. Promised!!!
