Education in the Fourth Industrial Revolution
Today, as GCSE results are released nationwide, we're reminded of the pivotal moments shaping our futures. At Urban MBA, we're marking this significant day by announcing the publication of our first White Paper: 'Education in the Fourth Industrial Revolution: Empowering Marginalised Youth through Enterprise'.
Our paper delves into pressing societal issues affecting us all, focusing on marginalised communities.
Key insights from our white paper include:
-The urgent need for educational reform to address the widening skills gap in the age of AI and automation.
-The critical importance of diverse role models and representation in education, particularly for young Black students.
-The power of enterprise education in equipping marginalised youth with the tools to succeed in the modern world.
-The impact of technology on the future of work, including the rise of the gig economy and the need for continuous upskilling.
As highlighted in our paper , 'The Fourth Industrial Revolution is not just about technological change, but also about the need for a new social contract that prioritises inclusion, sustainability, and lifelong learning' (Oppong, 2021).
We're excited to announce that Urban MBA will be providing alternative one-year Level 3-6 courses tailored for marginalised communities which is cheaper so it is accessible to all. These courses aim to bridge the gap between traditional education and the skills needed for success in the rapidly evolving job market.
For those new to the Urban MBA community, I strongly encourage you to read our paper. It provides valuable insight into our values and the critical issues we're committed to addressing.
As we reflect on the importance of education and future opportunities on this GCSE results day, let's also consider the broader societal issues that will shape the world these students are stepping into. Our White Paper aims to contribute meaningfully to this conversation.
Here's to new beginnings, continuous learning, and working together to create positive change!

3 个月Kofi Oppong 100% agree with everything you say in the white paper ?? "investing in early childhood education, promoting diverse role models, providing comprehensive career guidance, and integrating life skills and enterprise education into the curriculum" are crucial steps towards a 21st century education system. ?? Would have been interesting to consider the impact of gender and economic factors in more depth but I really don't want to undermine the key messages. IE: that times have changed, and outcomes are unequal. ?? Having said all that. Need to recognise that teachers in the UK are superbly trained, dedicated and committed to the best outcomes for all. For all the challenges they face and the flak they get - good teachers change lives. ?? Thanks Jamila Daley for tagging me, really interesting paper from Urban MBA ??

3 个月Powerful opening statement... why hasn't the #teaching formula changed ... #AI could enhance many CYP learning but it won't scratch the surface if #educational practitioners ain't even trained or institutions have access for some students or not apprehensive to explore its benefits... we're always so behind & unwilling to learn from others & pay for the benefits????♀?

3 个月I so agree with this quote: "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." but I will add ... 'Insanity is doing the same thing?over and over again and expecting different results. '? We need to change. What do you think?
