A few years back, education technology, or ‘Edtech’ what we call it today, was a word that very few knew. Today, however, it is difficult to find someone who cannot explain what Edtech is when asked about it. As per data, the industry received nearly $5billion equity investment in 5 years and they project the industry to grow to $30billion in the next couple of years. With internet penetration, we have seen the rise of more platforms like Upgrad, Nulearn, Henry Harvin, Great Learning, Edureka, Simplilearn, and many more around us. They made everything ready for you. The necessity to get all involved with and learning content online has made a huge leap forward.
Since the COVID-19 has hit, it brought the possibility of online education. Some would say this was a blessing in disguise and some argue the other way. It’s the first time we see people are learning with so much dedication. I’m sure we will all see more online classes and more people using this as a route to education.?
Edtech For All
With the current technological explosion, online education has become a boon. One can easily complete their high school and bachelor’s from the comfort of their couch. One can get the best online learning courses from reputed institutes like Harvard, Berkley, IIMs, & IITs on a single webpage. These are instructor-led online courses, which are made simple and easy to understand with the help of step-by-step guidance and tutorials. The online course contains a lot of practical and theory-based topics for the students to learn from. The focus is not only on higher education, but there is a sharp inclination toward school programs as well. If you see the enrolments for Byju’s, Magnet Brains, Vedantu, Unacademy, Oda classes, and others, they are doing wonders and teaching kids the same concepts we could never think of.

Skills have become an important armor. You can say that they are what makes you different and what others like you are missing. You will lose time and opportunity if you choose the wrong skill. If you pick the right skills, the success that you achieve will be greater. Companies like IBM, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, and many more have become so particular in terms of skillful professionals that they have tied up with Edtech platforms.
There are hundreds of skills you can gain from, so take your time before going for it. You can start by researching and then apply for courses with all the certifications that you want. Upskilling will not only help you stand out from your peer group who are doing the same job, but will increase your chances of moving up the ladder more swiftly. If you have a desire for a better job and promotion, then you will have to be proactive and search for a skill that will get you there.
For people who are looking to enhance their knowledge online, here are some top resources that are sure to assist. YouTube is a great place to learn about any topic or technology on a broad and in-depth level. The videos here come from both famous tutors and subject experts from the industry. Udemy, Coursera, LinkedIn Learning are some of my go-to resources when I want to take some lessons. Like all the other online learning platforms, these resources have content that is equally educational and engaging.
