“Do not come up, I will handle them.”

Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan: During the Black Tornado operation

“Do not come up, I will handle them.” When Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan was shot while battling terrorists inside the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel as part of the Black Tornado operation during the Mumbai attacks in 2008, these were likely his final words to his men. Unnikrishnan was a Major in the elite National Security Guards of the Indian Army (NSG). When a commando was hurt during the operation, Major Unnikrishnan set up for his evacuation and then went after the terrorists by himself. He was fatally hurt and martyred due to his wounds during this chase.
