Despite its significance to the internet, many people have never heard of DNS. That's mainly because the system is constantly being updated and modified to meet new and changing needs. This article looks at what the journey so far has been like for EDNS and how it will help us move towards faster and more secure data transfers.

The team at EDNS had two main goals in mind. First, they wanted to solve problems with DNS that occurred when too many data transfers took place on a single network connection. They also wanted to provide an option for IPv6-based addressing that would overcome the IPv4 address exhaustion problem. Both these issues have been resolved by implementing EDNS in IPv6 as well as by making multiple simultaneous connections possible. As a result, internet users can now enjoy faster web browsing and other data transfers without compromising security. EDNS is simplifying Web3 and increasing accessibility.

The team have organised several giveaways. Where members of the community were able to claim domains worth $25 were obtained at no cost.
