Of Edits, Photoshop & Filters
They began editing pictures many years back. Faces emerged brighter...eyes were more pronounced...but no one had a problem...they all knew that it was some sort of make believe!
Soon, our food...vacation spots...family photos...brands and even jobs started going through "photoshop"
The grass that was supposed to be green on the other side suddenly seemed greener with the right filters...look at pictures on your I pads or mobiles and you'll come to believe that you're the only one with a less-than-perfect situation...do people amplify their differences, do we increase the distance with the airbrushed person leading a differentiated online life.
Been feeling lately that it has reached a point where people even airbrush their difficulties, making them either more dramatic in their life's drama or they try to portray that they don't have any. The tone of their online lives and image is far different than the tone with which they communicate in real lives.

7 年It really culminates from our tendency to align ourselves with the societal/ organisational norms. Modern day and age doesn't seem to appreciate anything that is raw and in its natural form so we tend to Photoshop everything from our pictures to our feelings to let the world know we are like everyone else and not raw and unique. We as a society are scarred to show our true feelings and vulnerabilities so many times and therefore the need to edit and Photoshop.
