This past month, we stood firm in our belief that health care is a human right. The current U.S. administration has introduced policies that threaten global health, but we’ve taken action—issuing statements, sharing explainers, and mobilizing our community. Amid the challenges, we also launched a new series to spotlight good news, something we could all use a bit more of these days!

??? PIHer of the Month: Meet Nadine Karema

This month, we celebrate Nadine Karema, executive director of Inshuti Mu Buzima, as PIH is known in Rwanda. Since joining PIH in 2013, Nadine has led efforts to strengthen health systems, drive digital innovation, and build capacity in Rwanda. Her leadership has improved care for patients and vulnerable communities across the country.

Beyond PIH, Nadine has supported Rwanda’s Ministry of Health, co-chaired national health committees, and contributed to leadership training at the University of Global Health Equity. We celebrate her dedication to advancing health care and equity. Get to know Nadine
