Edition 7 - Profiting From Prayer

The title and topic this week is not referring to a pay now for healing infomercial type of profiting from prayer. Much different actually. I am referring to the profit that will come from implementing consistency and intentionality in prayer. It will most definitely lead to blessings surrounding your life. Profiting from prayer means being fully present all the way through...to the most unpredictable, and also the most amazing ROI you could ever imagine.

Philippians 4:6-7

New International Version

6?Do not be anxious about anything,?but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.?7?And the peace of God,?which transcends all understanding,?will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Read that again, but this time really try to consider the instruction of it.

Do not be anxious about....Anything.

Easier said than done.

We are also instructed to go to God through prayer and petition in EVERY situation. Yes, even when it doesn't quite go our way, or something sets us back at work. Much easier said than done. I am going to need to keep re-reading and reciting that scripture over and over. It reads with TRUTH and confirms that the return of the investment will come if the hard work is put in. I need to understand this consistently.

The scripture tells us about the feeling that we will have returned to us; all while being vague enough to remain unpredictable in what that will look like when we are obedient in submitting all prayers to God.

'And the peace of God,?which transcends all understanding,?will guard your hearts and your minds'

WHOA!

I am blessed to be able to help hard working business owners in the blue to grey collar spaces as a PEO broker. I know from conversations with prospects and clients that many of them are super anxious right now. They should pray even when their costs for supplies are going up. Pray even when you can't find enough reliable help. Pray in the moment when you feel the crunch at the pump with prices continuing to rise. Maybe these things are forcing you to make that hard decision to increase your costs to clients. Question him in those moments. "God, I am not sure how much more I can handle. Why can't I find a reliable employee right now?" God is not offended by our questions and doubts. He can handle it, and he does. He will never forsake you.

Remember, he said by prayer and PETITION. Appeal to his authority with a formal request.

We are called to also do this in praise and Thanksgiving for what he has already done or is doing. I am not the same person I was 4 years ago. Thank God for that. I can't speak for anyone else, but I know that I am so grateful for the unpredictable journey so far. I do not always understand, and I do not always have the consistency/intentionality in prayer, but I can confidently say that I never would have imagined where the development of self-awareness, surrounding myself with the right people, and the implementation of intentionality in my spiritual life would find me at here typing this. Amazing. I forget all of the blessings and even the profits that came from the unanswered prayers.

Try to be consistent in praying this week about the little victories, the big ones, the everyday victories, the mess ups, the mistakes, the ugly, and the times that challenge us to our core.

Evaluate the difference in PEACE that you feel.

Make a point to sharpen you....so you can sharpen others.

Sharpen in your workplaces, your homes, your church, and your communities. Our time is measured. It is time we start investing in the future.
