Edition 5 : Be the Catalyst - Reflect, Absorb and Lead the way

We are soon entering the end of the year and starting of new one. Q4 calendar is very different from the rest of the months, as we get busy with celebrations (Diwali, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) and try to find reasons to create a bridge for what we expected and what we ended it could be on the numbers or on the resolutions of the year. We also get busy planning the budgets and new resolutions. This is an ongoing process for many of us.

This edition is not on the goals or resolutions or what was not met, the focus here is on the quality of a leader who, amidst every changing landscape, remains grounded and adapts to the new environment but maintains his calmness and composure. With the digital explosion and with AI to the help of all, everyone has become a preacher and influencer. We have access to lots of information, but do we have time to reflect on what is right, what is important and is the information needed in the first place. The new conditioning is speed and colorful data and loaded information. The attention span has reduced over years and our multi taking in work has changed from excel, ppt, word, ERP systems etc. to Social media (there are so many of them). Gone are the days when you sit down and brainstorm an error or a problem statement, now everyone looks either for a system to be 100% error proof or decisions are taken by solutions readily available. You input X and you get Y (GIGO) it can be Good in and Good Out or ......

Embracing Change is the need of any day, but we should reflect on the expected change and take the necessary steps to get it enabled and not just follow the common road. Many a times road less travelled will be more beneficial than the conditioned road.

Loyalty, Team composition, Rewards, Teamwork and Collaboration, Learning, Cost Vs Profit, customer satisfaction have all undergone paradigm shifts in the way it is understood and perceived.

True Leadership is those who embrace innovation and advancement and act as a catalyst and be a bridge of the past good to the future better.

Let us not lose out to the distractions, but make an attempt to remain attentive and become a catalyst

This edition is dedicated to all those leaders who still stand by values, stand by team and act as a catalyst to all.

Remember the lines Miles and Miles to go before I sleep. I draw a parallel that we need to continue doing our responsibilities and not get distracted.
