It’s me, Deborah!
How to remember it, and why we have it!
That’s right, British Summer Time has arrived.?
It starts at 1am on the last Sunday in March when the clocks ‘spring forward’. It ends on the last Sunday in October when the clock ‘falls back’ by an hour.
It has been in use since 1917 to maximise daylight hours for factory workers in the First World War, and farming industries. Germany was the first country to implement it, quickly followed by the UK a few weeks later. ?
We had British Double Summer Time too at one point where we were two hours in advance and for a period between 1968-1971 they were put forward and not back.?
Stop it! It’s enough to make you dizzy.? Enjoy the lighter nights. ?
This week’s edition is all about bringing who you are and what you have to the table. Your unique you!?
Estimated read time 7mins 3 secs savour those 3 seconds. ?

The rise of "Encore" Entrepreneurs has become a significant trend among women over 50 and is the shift towards becoming an entrepreneur later in life. I much prefer this term to ‘olderpreneurs’ which is what we were called in last week's edition!
Leveraging decades of experience, "Encore Entrepreneurs" are starting businesses complete with all of that juicy wisdom I often talk about in the membership.?
?This movement isn't just about financial necessity but also about passion, purpose, and the desire to make a meaningful impact.?
I like to keep my clients true to themselves which brings making a meaningful impact into focus much easier than when fabricating who you are. Keep that in mind when you are next making a decision - listen in to your instincts they won’t let you down. ?
Investing with a Gender Lens sees women over 50 increasingly influencing the investment landscape by prioritising gender lens investing. This strategy focuses on investing in companies that benefit women through leadership, products, and services.?
By aligning your investments with your values, women can contribute to societal change while also pursuing financial returns and meeting those desires to make a meaningful impact. ?

Sharon Stone
“This idea that being youthful is the only thing that’s beautiful or attractive simply isn’t true. I don’t want to be an ’ageless beauty. I want to be a woman who is the best I can be at my age.’” This is what Sharon Stone at 66 has said about ageing. She has a very simple no-fuss morning routine - “I don’t do much in the morning. I wash my face with water and brush my teeth.” ?
Being the best at the age you are can be tricky when ‘circumstances’ take you off track. It’s easily done, and sometimes you don’t even notice. Getting back on the best path for you can be a tough haul for your mind.
?Think of your body as your business; sometimes all that is needed is the first step and the next. It’s worth it in every direction.

“I feel the same. I’m a glass-half-full person. My thinking is, just be as young as you possibly can be.” Jane Seymour OBE is an English actress (not the one married to King Henry VIII!). The former Bond girl, now aged 73 shows us that keeping your mental game in the right direction is where it’s at.?
?Ask yourself daily where your happiness lies. Where is your mental well-being today? How can I improve my inner dialogue?
Offering Unparalleled Value Through Experience.?
Your years of experience are a unique selling proposition. Whether it's through the depth of understanding in your industry, the breadth of skills you've acquired, or the insights into customer service and relationship management, your experience is invaluable.?
Use it to differentiate yourself in the market.?
Highlight your experience in your marketing materials, and consider offering services like consulting or coaching that draw directly on your accumulated knowledge. And that includes all of the immense emotional intelligence you can draw upon from your mistakes and successes. We are learning the most when we are in the trenches not collecting the awards.?
I will be touching on this point during my Wednesday Weekly on Wednesday (funnily enough ;-) ) from 7pm to 7:45pm. Join HERE . ?
Adopt a Learning Mindset.?
The business world is continuously evolving, with new technologies and trends emerging regularly. Embrace a mindset of lifelong learning to stay relevant and competitive.?
Investing in yourself is never time wasted.
This could mean taking online courses related to your business, attending workshops and seminars, or even pursuing a new degree if it aligns with your business goals. That word ‘align’ again. Check-in what feels right for you.
Staying updated with industry trends, understanding new technologies, and adapting to changes are crucial for long-term success.
Remember, your age and experience bring a wealth of knowledge and resilience that can set you apart in the business world. Use these two hacks as a springboard to leverage your strengths and navigate the challenges with confidence. ?
Mindful or Mindless??
My son, the very one who bought my little dog a natty Manchester United raincoat, also bought me a jigsaw. I’ve had it for over a year. I started it 3 times and had to pack it up for various reasons. It became ‘that god damn jigsaw’ with a side helping of guilt as my son had bought it for me to enjoy.
Well. I set it back up again with a refreshed determination to finish it before any further interruptions arrived (life can be that way can’t it?).?
I felt a bit daft at first when I set out doing it. Then I felt like it was a waste of my time. Then I started making progress. Then I thought this is a form of mindlessness. And actually for my firework brain… a mini holiday.?
Who’s laughing now Deborah?
It was only 500 pieces!! I might get another one!
Wednesday Weekly or Wednesday Meekly??
?I held my first live event in ages on Wednesday.?
It’s a new regular thing.?
It was a flop!
Well, that’s what I would have told myself and focused on some years ago, and I want you to check if this is you. WTF - where’s the focus?
Negative POV?- ‘Only one person turned up, it’s a flop, it’s no good, oh why not - I’m no good, I should stop them.’ Does anyone else run this narrative?
Positive POV - ‘I had a person show, I have a presentation to use, I have new leads to send the presentation to, I have experience, I have set up a system, I understood what I want to talk about for future sessions - following my alignment and intuition is everything.
?
Which version would you take?
Till next week... how can I help?
P.S - Will I see you on Wednesday?
