Edition 25: Silence is Golden: Don't Take it Personally!
Hi, well wealthy creators,?
What a week I’ve had. Did you notice I didn’t publish my newsletter for you this week? Well, last Friday, entirely out of the blue, my LinkedIn account was inaccessible. I couldn’t log in, no matter how I tried. This was a little shocking, especially as my LinkedIn Events are coming up very soon—3rd July!
But I kept calm and began to try to contact someone to ask what was happening. That was a nightmare because there was nowhere you could get immediate help. Then, I searched around and found a contact from an independent website outside the account. Eventually, I could raise a case, but not until the weekend was over, as no one answered me at the weekend.
Then, I was suspended for three days, not knowing what would happen. Finally, yesterday evening, I received new access details and could log back in. So, there was suspicious activity on my account, so they locked it to protect me! I’m pretty impressed that they took those steps, but the wall of silence didn’t impress me. I was just politely asked to wait until they recontacted me—no time limit or other information.
Such a gap at this crucial time was inspiring. There was nothing I could do, so I had no choice but to accept what was happening and sit back. I got a new perspective from this and moved away from emotional flames to a cool place where I could give my full attention to creating the materials for the Events. It was an incredible moment in which I could breathe deeply and relax!
Anyway, I'll share more about that later, along with a few tips that you can use if something potentially paralysing like this happens to you!?
Last week, I mentioned how interest in my Escape 9-5 Grind campaign is growing. Dr Joseph Nwoye, the Director of the Systemic Diversity Inclusion Group on LinkedIn, is especially interested in tearing down the Wall of Traditional Work, so he interviewed me at length, and we’ve got lots of other people from the group involved in promoting the campaign.
By the way, before I forget, here’s the link to the recording of my campaign presentation, which is now public and live on YouTube for you to view:

So, as a result of my shortened week, I will stay minimal today and expand more at the end of the next edition. But now, let me share a strategy that I used to keep calm during the recent upheavals.

The Power of Emotional Detachment
In our frantic race to succeed in work and wealth, it's easy to get caught up in the highs and lows of success and setbacks.
Emotional detachment, a key principle in Buddhism, can be a powerful tool for maintaining balance and avoiding burnout while steadily moving toward your goals.
Emotional detachment is not about becoming indifferent or unfeeling but about cultivating a balanced mindset that allows you to pursue your objectives without being overwhelmed by emotional ups and downs.
Quotations to Inspire Detachment
"Attachment is the root of suffering." – Buddha
This quote highlights the importance of releasing our attachments to avoid unnecessary pain and stress.?
"Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment." – Buddha
Staying present helps us focus on our actions rather than getting entangled in emotional responses to outcomes.
"Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without." – Buddha
True peace and balance come from within ourselves, not external achievements or validations.
Practical Guidelines for Practicing Detachment
1. Mindfulness Meditation
Regular mindfulness meditation helps you become aware of your thoughts and emotions without being controlled.
By observing your feelings non-judgmentally, you can reduce their power over you.?
2. Acceptance
Accept things as they are. Understand that you cannot control everything.
This acceptance reduces resistance and emotional turmoil.
3. Non-attachment to Outcomes
Focus on the process and effort rather than the results.
This helps you stay motivated and resilient, regardless of the outcomes.
4. Cultivate Compassion?
Practice compassion towards yourself and others.
This fosters a gentle approach to setbacks and criticism, making it easier to move forward without taking things personally.
Then, your spoken and unspoken words play a large part in how you react in challenging situations.
Rewriting your script is a good idea, but it takes some time.
I suggest 30 days of repeating positive statements like the ones below with feeling.
They will only be effective if you feel the words as you speak them sincerely—whether out loud or inside.
This transparency will raise the frequency of the transmission of your unique energy out into the universe.
Affirmations for Emotional Detachment
"I am focused on my journey, not the outcome."
"I release the need to control everything. I trust the process."

Inspiring Image
YOU are the link or bridge between heaven and earth.
Your spine and mind/consciousness make a unique connection or current between them.
So, when you sit mindfully, remember that your spine needs to be lengthened by the power of your thoughts, not by physical stretching.
The Field of Gravity keeps us on the earth, our feet on the ground, so when your spine lengthens up towards your skull and the crown of your head, you need courage and strength to fight against that incredible force.
Alternatively, when your spine lengthens down towards the earth, you need compassion and acceptance as an Earthly being.
You are the only bridge between them and the ruler of your unique universe!
?
Well, that’s all for now.
Hope you have a happy and meaningful few days.
?
Yours compassionately and courageously
