Automated RNA Purification Using Microsamples
Purification of Total RNA, including miRNA, was achieved by researchers at Promega, who used Mitra? microsampling devices based on VAMS? technology for their study. For this study, the VAMS tips on the Mitra devices were pre-treated in the lab with GenTegraRNA-NEO, an Active Chemical Protection? (ACP) technology by GenTegra, LLC that is supplied by Trajan.
The VAMS? tips were allowed to dry before the devices were used for blood collection. The Promega researchers also used the Promega Maxwell? RSC simplyRNA Blood Kit and the Maxwell? RSC Instrument to complete the RNA purification.

Researchers Profile RNA Biomarkers in Blood Microsamples
In another study using Mitra? microsampling devices that had been pre-treated with the new RNA stabilization product GenTegraRNA-NEO, researchers at Cellecta collected blood microsamples remotely. They then analyzed the dried blood microsamples using the Cellecta DriverMap? Targeted RNA-Seq Expression Profiling Technology 19K Panel. They also used the Cellecta DriverMap? T/B Immune Marker Panel to effectively detect up- and down-regulated genes in blood microsamples.
