Eurofins Japan Offers PFAS Testing via Microsampling for Japanese PFAS Program
Remote blood sample collection with microsampling devices for PFAS Testing in Japan is being offered by Eurofins Japan to measure people's exposure to environmental toxins known as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS or PFASs). According to a report from Newsweek, a special kit called the "PFAS Self-Collection Blood Test Service (for Research)" is provided by Eurofins Japan as part of a PFAS testing service for Japanese businesses, local governments, and other organizations in and around Tokyo.
Late last year, the Japanese Ministry of the Environment announced a policy to expand their blood PFAS testing program from a few regions to a broader, nationwide effort. As in other regions around the world, PFAS contamination is thought to be spreading from factory exhaust and fire extinguishing agents to soil, groundwater, public water systems and drinking water. Research and regulation of these potential contamination sources are ongoing in Japan.
People can use the Eurofins Japan kits with the enclosed Neoteryx? Mitra? devices with VAMS? technology from Trajan Scientific and Medical to easily collect their own blood microsamples at home or work. They can use a high-flow lancet (*not included in the kit) to puncture their fingertip and collect a few drops of blood onto the absorbent VAMS tips of the Mitra device.
The blood samples collected by people in Japan will be sent to a Eurofins Group Laboratory (ISO-17025 certified) in the United States, which has extensive experience in PFAS testing and has performed many PFAS tests using microsampling. Once the blood samples arrive in the Eurofins Group's lab, a high-sensitivity measurement of PFAS in the blood will be performed using the latest LC-MS/MS analytical equipment available.

CliniSciences Distributes Trajan Microsampling Devices in France, Italy, Spain and Portugal
More Europeans now have access to remote blood sample collection with microsampling devices, thanks to a new agreement between Trajan and CliniSciences, a France-based distributor of reagents and instruments for immunology, cell biology and molecular biology in the scientific research and diagnostics sector. CliniSciences is distributing Trajan's Neoteryx? hemaPEN? and Mitra? microsampling devices to research and health providers in Europe.
Remote Finger-Stick Blood Collection...Anywhere, Anytime
Both the hemaPEN and the Mitra microsampling device based on VAMS? technology are volumetric microsampling devices that are registered in Europe as CE-IVD (IVDR) medical devices for clinical and research applications. The CE-IVD classification allows CliniSciences to provide the devices to healthcare professionals and scientists conducting research, medical patient monitoring, public health studies, decentralized clinical trials (DCTs), and remote wellness monitoring.
