OVER THE PAST DECADE OF RUNNING MCPHERSON STRATEGIES WHAT LESSONS HAVE YOU LEARNED THAT WOULD HELP OTHERS RUNNING THEIR OWN COMPANIES?

Hire, hire, hire. As women some of us have a tendency to hoard and protect ourselves from future potential downfall - aka - do as much as possible ourselves rather than 1) asking for help and 2) hiring contractors or employees. I learned early on that it would be best for me to surround myself with a small number of contractors to be successful. That way I could continue doing what I was best at which was getting “out the door” and speaking, connecting and building relationships, while the actual business could continue to operate.

Technology companies have flocked to Congress to talk about how AI needs to be regulated. This happened after they became established as the leaders in the space, which was smart. It is actually very good for companies to ask to be regulated at this point, because it's very easy for them throw roadblocks back at people coming up behind them. Those people have to adhere to regulations where the big players didn't necessarily have to do so during their assent.?
