The 2024 Formula 1 season has shifted in recent months from Red Bull dominance to more competitive, thrilling racing among multiple contenders like McLaren and Ferrari. This shift has delivered intense battles, such as Charles Leclerc and Oscar Piastri chasing each other flat out in Baku, and most recently, epic battling in the last laps between Lando Norris and Max Verstappen in Austin.

?

As a racing driver and fan, "The Chase" - unfolding over multiple laps - is the pinnacle spirit of motorsport. For the attacker, analyzing the competitor ahead, identifying their strengths, recognizing where you hold the advantage, and choosing the right moment to strike. For the defender, staying composed under relentless pressure and positioning the car to prevent the overtake. For both drivers, The Chase is a heroic combination of poise, precision, and audacity.?

?

Our North Star is to bring the excitement of The Chase to autonomous racing, through incredibly precise AI-driven wheel-to-wheel racecraft. Fans will witness close battles develop over multiple laps, on the edge of their seats to see which AI driver prevails, while gaining unprecedented insights into the “driver’s mind.” We’re inviting spectators to a front-row experience of the exhilaration of The Chase. And over the coming years, creating racing that is more complex, competitive, and impressive than what human drivers can physically achieve.?

The Mars rover may be a robot, but it embodies the bold spirit of humanity. We can't wait to showcase that same relentless drive through champion-minded robots racing at 200kph.

Code19 McLaren Sensor Car

Last week, Code19 Racing hit the scene at two thrilling events in the UAE: the A2RL Season 2 launch at the GITEX Technology Conference in Dubai, and the A2RL | DCL drone racing exhibition at the IROS Conference in Abu Dhabi. These showcases highlighted the growing excitement for the sport of autonomous racing, captivating fans and tech enthusiasts alike.

Looking ahead, our Code19 Race Engineers are gearing up for more hands-on testing at Yas Marina Circuit. They'll be fine-tuning our McLaren Artura ground truth sensor car, focusing on optimizing LIDAR, GPS, cameras, accelerometers, and additional sensors. Every high-speed lap with this data-gathering beast brings us closer to that podium finish. The insights gained will sharpen our AI models and elevate our competitive edge, keeping Code19 at the forefront of autonomous racing innovation.

In October, McLaren unveiled the W1, a successor to its P1 hypercar. Like the P1, the W1 features a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, but it distinguishes itself with a novel chassis design. Notably, the W1 incorporates 3D-printed suspension components, including lightweight front upper wishbones and aerodynamically shaped lower wishbones, developed in collaboration with Divergent Technologies, a leader in 3D printing. Other hypercar manufacturers, such as Ferrari and Bugatti, also utilize 3D printing for suspension parts. The W1 is set to begin deliveries in 2026, with a starting price of $2.1 million for the 399 pre-sold units.??
