Welcome to the first edition of The Great Boss Newsletter. A monthly newsletter created for bosses who want to learn, want to grow and want to be great! This first edition is an introduction, explaining what it’s all about (what we’ll be covering) and what’s in it for you (since we’re sure you don’t want to spend your valuable time on something that won’t benefit you).?
What’s it all about?
Like our book (Bad Bosses Ruin Lives: The Building Blocks of Being a Great Boss), each newsletter will look at both sides of being a boss. First, what causes us to get it wrong (the bad boss side), and second, what we can do to get it right (the great boss side).?We’ll do this through storytelling; sharing a situation where a boss has gotten it wrong. These will come from us, from you, anyone who is willing to share their story. It can be about a time when you’ve gotten it wrong as a boss (since we all have), or a time when you’ve had a bad boss yourself (since we’ve all had one).
From here we’ll do a deep dive into the situation, talking about what went wrong, relating it to the 10 bad boss traits and types we explain in our book, and some of the reasons or traps that led this person to act in this way. And next, share tools for getting it right, relating it to our 14 building blocks. Together, this will help us all understand the why (why it went wrong), what (how it went wrong), and how (how to get it right going forward).
In addition, each newsletter will include additional resources and tools related to this topic, providing even more insights and approaches.
What’s in it for me?
