Becoming an Influencer on your Campus (JK - it's the quick guide to getting free products, making money, and talking about it)

The campus ambassador position needs to be utilized by more college students. Not only do you score free products and make extra cash, but the short-term experience allows you to work with big-name brands and develop employable skills. Since my first year of college, I've had the opportunity to work for big names like?Bumble Inc.,?National Basketball Association (NBA),?Supergoop!?,?Kodiak Cakes,?BuzzFeed,?Urban Decay Cosmetics, and more. Not only has this given my resume a boost, but it has given me so many internal connections to the companies. Since being in the Bumble Honey program, I have not had an interview where a recruiter didn't excitedly ask me how I got involved with them. To name a few, I have developed skills in marketing, digital content creation, sales, event planning and execution, creative strategy, and more. Students often view these roles as one-dimensional or lacking in an application for non-business/marketing students, but it's all in how you advertise it. A pre-med student working for a sunscreen brand can turn "handing out samples in the quad" into "spreading information on sun safety and giving students free products to encourage safe practices directly." A computer science major can turn "creating content about Bumble" to "communicating the benefits of using AI-powered in-app safety features to target demographics." How you describe your experience can sometimes be more important than the experience itself.

As a campus ambassador, you'll have the chance to network with professionals from various industries. You'll build connections that could lead to internships, job opportunities, friendship, or mentorship. I encourage you to connect with your managing staff and fellow ambassadors. Some of my newer opportunities came from other ambassadors or leaders telling me what they were doing and encouraging me to do it (shout out?to Mac Parker?and?McKenna Gray?for all the fantastic advice and support).
