MLA's Rosebank Distillery transformation blends the past with the future to stunning effect.

When architecture and design practice, MLA, undertook the renovation of the historic Rosebank Distillery in Falkirk, the team knew it would come with its challenges.

Established in 1840, Rosebank was known as the ‘King of the Lowlands’ for its high-quality triple-distilled whisky. However, recessions, reduction in whisky consumption, two world wars, and soaring maintenance costs all took their toll.

The word 'sustainability' can be considered either a noun, or a verb. At Vepa, it is unquestionably regarded as the latter.

After an inspiring trip to Vepa's factories in Emmen and Hoogeveen, Netherlands, rounded off with plastic fishing in the Amsterdam canals to support the Plastic Whale initiative, our team returned buoyant from being immersed in the wealth of positive action undertaken by the family firm.

Art Deco-inspired curves and a calming ambience for Alexion workplace scheme by Ekho Studio.

Manchester-based design practice, Ekho Studio, has completed a 7,000 sq ft workspace scheme for pharmaceutical company Alexion, recently acquired by AstraZeneca.

Located within AstraZeneca’s existing offices at St Pancras Square, London, the scope also included a business meeting suite for AstraZeneca, directly linking to Alexion’s office space on the 6th floor. The result is a professional, high-quality workspace, where elegant Art Deco-inspired cues fuse with the calming use of curved forms.
