What can I do with Designer?

Microsoft Designer is a versatile tool that offers a wide range of features to help you create and edit stunning visuals. Here are some of the key things you can do with Designer:

How to Edit images with Designer from Microsoft Photos

  1. To get started, open Microsoft Designer on your computer. If you don't have it installed, you can download it from the Microsoft Store. Once installed, launch the application and sign in with your Microsoft account.
  2. Click on the "Import" button to upload the image you want to edit. You can choose an image from your computer, OneDrive, or other connected storage services. Once the image is uploaded, it will appear on the canvas.
  3. Microsoft Designer offers a variety of basic editing tools to enhance your image. Here are some of the key tools you can use:

  • Crop: Adjust the size and aspect ratio of your image.
  • Rotate: Rotate your image to the desired angle.
  • Adjustments: Modify the brightness, contrast, saturation and other settings to improve the overall look of your image.
  • Filters: Apply different filters to give your image a unique style.

4. To make your image more engaging, you can add text and graphics. Click on the "Text" button to insert text boxes and customise the font, size, colour and alignment. You can also add shapes, icons and other graphics by clicking on the "Graphics" button.

5. For more advanced editing, Microsoft Designer offers a range of effects such as shadows, reflections and 3D transformations. Experiment with these effects to add depth and dimension to your image.

6. Once you're satisfied with your edits, click on the "Save" button to save your project. You can also export your image in various formats such as JPEG, PNG, or PDF. Choose the format that best suits your needs and save the file to your desired location.
