Changemakers Impact: How the extraordinary Dame Stephanie Shirley CH changed business

A video first shared at our Global Conference in London: Dame Stephanie (Steve) Shirley CH?arrived in the UK aged 6 as part of the Kindertransport from Nazi Germany in 1939. She challenged sexual discrimination, social convention and the global software market. Dame Stephanie set up ‘Freelance Programmers’ in 1962 with £6 and for many years only employed women working from home. She was one of the first to sell computer software separately from hardware. By the time she sold her business in 2007 it was valued at over $3bn and employed 8,500 people. Now 91 she still works 25 hours a week.?(12mins)?Watch?
