#EdinburghTogether – An opportunity for QMU food and drink related businesses
As part of #EdinburghTogether (a partnership between Santander Universities, Queen Margaret University and Napier University) I am delighted to share an exciting opportunity for businesses with a connection to QMU.
As a ‘thank you’ to the QMU Nursing and Allied Health Professions students who have been drafted in to support the NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic, Santander Universities and QMU are working together to organise a gift to thank them for their hard work.
As part of this, we also want to support businesses connected with the University during this incredibly difficult time, and have devised a way to do both by opening a business competition for a QMU-connected business to supply the gift for our students.
The gift must be in the area of food and drink and be deliverable as a voucher or pre-payment option for up to 500 students or new graduates.
I would like to encourage anyone with a relevant business and a great gift idea to get in touch with me ([email protected]) or to apply – all details below.
We are incredibly proud of all of our students from the School of Health Sciences, especially those who are playing their part in the NHS’s fight against COVID-19.
If this competition is of interest, then please read the full details below and get in touch if you have any more questions. The closing date is Sunday 28th June.
Many thanks
Thomas Kelly
Head of Development and Alumni
Full terms:
1. The company will submit a pitch to provide a thank you gift to eligible QMU students. These students will opt-in with the University for their data to be shared with the company in order to allow the fulfilment of the order. Data shared in this way will only be for the order fulfilment and not for further marketing (although the company can seek opt-in consent for this upon fulfilment of the order).
2. The gift value will be up to £35 per head including any VAT, delivery and any other charges. The gift voucher or whatever form it takes must be transmittable to the student or new graduate by email and should not be reusable or require a sign-up to automatic renewals.
3. The gift must be food and drink related – this is a celebration and a thank you – but beyond this, the form it will take is open. We look forward to hearing your amazing ideas!
4. The company must guarantee it can fulfil an order size of up to 500 people within a reasonable timescale (please note that this is not a guaranteed 500 gifts)
5. The gift must be claimed by 31 December 2020.
6. The company will receive a list of eligible QMU students/alumni who have opted-in to receive the gift and will email the gift voucher in July.
7. The company will invoice QMU for the cost of the gift following confirmation of the number of opted-in students.
8. The company must be owned, part-owned, or have an Executive Director who is a QMU graduate, current student or have another connection to QMU such as members of The East Lothian Food & Drink Business Improvement District (BID).
9. Joint entries from multiple business owners are welcomed but there still must be a reasonable connection to QMU
10. All entries must be submitted by email to [email protected] by 28th June 2020;
11. The company must agree to participate in social media promotion with Santander Universities and Queen Margaret University on relation to the initiative. The University is also partnering with Edinburgh Napier University who are delivering a similar competition and gift through their own networks.
