Edify to Multiply
Never heard of this before? that’s okay. It’s a Concept, Phrase or Meaning foreign to many millions, possibly billions today. Not taught in any school that we are aware of.
First, let’s define each word for better understanding. Both words are Verbs and very easy to remember.
Edify (ed·i·fy) verb
Instruct, encourage or improve (someone) morally or intellectually.
synonyms: lift up, promote, educate, instruct, teach, school, tutor, train, guide
Multiply (mul·ti·ply) verb
Obtain from (a number) another that contains the first number a specified number of times. Increase or cause to increase greatly in number or quantity.
synonyms: increase, grow, become more numerous, accumulate, proliferate, mount up, snowball
Now, say it out loud “Edify to Multiply”. If you want to Grow an Organization, Team, Company, Church or Club Everyone must adopt this Mindset quickly. This can be a challenge today as most believe in selfishness, self-promotion and the "all-about-me" or "what's-in-it-for me" attitude. To prove this point, I’ll ask a simple question:
When was the last time YOU spoke Highly of a Colleague at Work with your "outside voice" to another person? Today? Yesterday? Last Week? Last Month? Never?
Think hard on that. Rarely does “Edification of Another” take place in the workforce today. Why?
· Most people are Too Insecure to Edify Another as it's perceived as Weakness
· To Edify, Promote or Empower Another is like giving away imaginary Personal Power or Control
· Most people are Self-Consumed with their own Needs, Wants, Agenda and Validation
Imagine a Culture where it is Actually Encouraged to become a Cheerleader in the Lives of Others.
To Create this Positive uplifting Environment takes Effort and Awareness to effect the required change from the Entire Organization, not just the Leaders.
Total Alignment Must Occur, Top to Bottom within the Entire Organization. Many have NEVER been Exposed to it, nor Aware of it nor have been Taught this simple basic principle. Be Patient on that note.
This type of environment is a “Family Culture” versus the standard Corporate Culture that abounds today.
Family Culture contains 5 Unmovable Elements: (all or many absent from a typical standard Corporate Culture)
· Honesty
· Support
· Transparency
· Doing what’s Right
· People First, then Profit to follow
Multiply a Leadership Team by doing these Four simple things:
- Know and Love the people on your Team
- Mobilize your Leaders to Edify immediately those they are Developing
- Teach and Practice obedience to a Simple Basic Proven System, to Edify in Love, before & above all else
- Build Loving, Edifying accountability relationships between Leaders and Teams in order to Teach others to Teach the same Simple Basic Proven System to reproduce New Leaders and Teams that CAN TEACH OTHERS the SAME, Over & Over !!!
Multiplication, Not Addition !!! (Multiplication is Much Faster than Addition)
What if you could reach over 2,000 new people with your product, message or service in the next eight years?
What if 2,000 new people were converted into new customers and/or walking talking mobile Good Will ambassadors of YOU because of your method in less than a decade?
What if there is historical time tested biblical references involved with this method?
Can you imagine it? Would you be embarrassed or offended to use this biblical method?
How would you feel if you knew your Life had been used by God to reach so many?
It may be more possible than you think!
Our Mission here is to “Multiply devoted Leaders and Teams to Success,” which Attracts others.
We don’t want to merely add new followers of a Basic Proven System, but we want to see Success move Exponentially. If you want to Attract Great Talent, you must become Attractive. Success begets Success.
What do we mean by that?
2 Timothy 2:2
"…what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."
Paul’s charge to Timothy in this passage is Not simply to pass on the message to another person, but to train up that person to pass it on to the next generation and the next generation after that.
There are Four Generations of Disciples in that one verse:
· Paul
· Timothy
· Reliable men
· Others
Have we missed Paul’s aim here? He’s talking about a ministry that multiplies. He is talking about a ministry that can reach the world with the Gospel in a relatively short period of time by word of mouth.
This same biblical principle or Method can be used in Business today as well. What? Read on.
If I reach Two people this year with the Good News and then Train them and release them to do the same for others, what would happen next year?
We each can Set our Minds on reaching Two people and Training them. I started alone, but now there are 81+ in just five years. If we all do the same the following year, there would be 243, Amazing, huh?
Here’s what this Looks like Year by Year as per the Numbers:
Year 1: 1 (self only - to start)
Year 2: 3
Year 3: 9
Year 4: 27
Year 5: 81
Year 6: 243
Year 7: 729
Year 8: 2,187
Can you imagine your Life and/or Business multiplied into 2,186 New People within the next Eight years?
That’s not Addition—it’s MULTIPLICATION ! And, isn’t that our/your mission?
You too can become a World Class Organization that Multiplies Successful Leaders and Teachers of a Basic Proven System instead of just simply “adding” them one at a time. HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU HAVE TO GROW THIS? HAVE A SENSE OF URGENCY HERE !!!
Let’s seek to Reach the Multitudes with the Good News, equip them, edify them, empower them and release them to reach others.
Word of mouth is the best advertising known to mankind in the history of our existence on this planet.
Good News travels Fast, unfortunately so does Bad News, Focus on the Positive let the Media focus on the Bad Stuff, LOL. Did I mention FOCUS on the Positive?
One must Fully Understand the Power of having a Simple Basic System and Total Alignment thereof.
The system MUST be easily taught, learned, duplicable, transferable, simple, and have a uniform message to fill the Need of the Consumer for the proper Growth to occur.
Look, if everyone is “Doing their Own Thing” chaos ensues, fractures occur, segmentation develops and No Real Growth can ever occur. This is Much like a Dog Chasing his own Tail, sometimes for years and years wandering in the wilderness. Pain, Frustration and Confusion sets in for all involved, people give up and quit at a faster rate than the organization can hire or onboard new hire replacement blood.
Leaders naturally will surface. Edify, Promote and Empower them to Lead, Provide the Resources and Support to continue Team Growth. The standard Corporate Mentality fears or is threatened by even just the thought of "Empowering" another as they may lose the Favor they’ve worked so hard for climbing the imaginary or real corporate ladder. Growth Mindset and the standard Corporate Maintain the Status Quo Mentality often collide.
Leaders must “Sell or Re-Sell the Dream” with each Team member every single time they connect in person, by phone, postal mail or email with a Positive Winning Attitude to inspire and encourage.
Share the Vision, over and over until Belief can occur. This is Critical as everyone has moments of doubt, plus the task to deprogram the centuries of corporate brainwashing.
Leaders must be Willing to Go control the Point of Contact with a New Hire’s Natural Market. New Hire gets the advantage of “Live-on-the-Job-Training” regarding the proper verbiage and temporarily taps into the experience of the Leader. The Leader must eventually cut the umbilical cord and allow the New Hire to make mistakes and learn on their own to rise & teach others. Otherwise, it becomes an unhealthy Co-Dependent relationship and Duplication has NOT occurred, which creates added burden on the Leader. Total Alignment with Shared Common Vision & Equal Reward is Required. "We're ALL in this Together" mindset !!! (Us versus Them - not Allowed)
We have had Great Success with this Method and Simple Basic Proven System, but don’t take our word for it. There are many other Successful startup examples:
· Coca Cola
· McDonalds
· Walmart
· Amazon
· Apple
· Yahoo
· Amway
· Kentucky Fried Chicken
· A.L. Williams –Primerica
(Notice that I said, startup. Most Companies end up becoming Complacent, loose their Fire and start Maintaining the "Status Quo" only to eventually Fade into Oblivion)
