Hey, here are some of the note worthy news on Edge AI you won't want to miss:
- NVIDIA
announced the general software availability of NVIDIA AI Enterprise-IGX with NVIDIA Holoscan
on the NVIDIA IGX? platform. Together, they empower solution providers within the medical, industrial and scientific computing sectors to develop and deploy edge AI solutions faster, with enterprise-grade software and support. NVIDIA Holoscan is the sensor processing platform that streamlines the development and deployment of AI and high-performance computing (HPC) applications for real-time insights.
- In addition, the NVIDIA IGX Orin? 700
, previously called the IGX Boardkit, now supports the NVIDIA RTX? 6000 Ada GPU as a new configuration option, delivering up to 1,705 trillion operations per second — a 7x increase in AI performance compared with using an onboard iGPU. This provides even more computing power at the edge for generative AI and high-performance computing workloads.
- Arm
unveiled new chip blueprints and software tools aimed at enhancing smartphones’ ability to handle AI tasks more efficiently. But they didn’t stop there – Arm also implemented changes to how they deliver these blueprints, potentially accelerating adoption. They announced the Arm Compute Subsystems (CSS)
for Client, their latest cutting-edge compute solution tailored for AI applications in smartphones and PCs. This CSS for Client promises a significant performance leap – over 30% increased compute and graphics performance, along with an impressive 59% faster AI inference for AI, machine learning, and computer vision workloads.
- Quectel
announced the launch of the latest generation of smart modules, ideal for industrial and consumer applications requiring high level of automation, high data rates and multimedia functions. Smart Module is an all-in-one hardware package built around a Rockchip RK3568 AI SoC that combines computing, graphics, storage, and connectivity in a compact form factor. The LGA module offers WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity, dual gigabit Ethernet networking, various video output options (HDMI, LVDS, RGB, MIPI, eDP), USB, PCIe, and many other features making it suitable for applications like smart homes, wearables, and industrial automation.
