Ed3 Weekly: Where's the Vision?

I read an interesting post last week commenting on the abundance of AI sessions at the recent National Future of Education Technology Conference (FETC). This person was slightly annoyed that there were so many sessions dedicated to AI.

Now, I'll admit that it has gotten a bit "bubbly" with all the AI stuff. But it also made me reflect that it is a technology conference and AI is kind of a big deal.

Many of my resources over the past year have shifted towards AI, but what can one do? We all know that this is pretty impactful stuff.

How do I balance this out?

I try to keep up on recent blockchain developments and make sure to include that in my potpourri of resource offerings.

I also want to share about a “minor” thing that happened this week. You might have heard of it. It's called the Apple Vision Pro.

What I have noticed in reading through all the reviews and share-outs is that no one is really sure what to do with this thing. There are a number of apps that allow for some interesting spatial computing applications, but how is this really going to change our computing experience?

I don’t think anyone knows. Think back to the iPhone. Did anyone have a firm grasp on how that technology would change our lives?

This week I’ve included a couple of articles that reference the use cases of the Vision Pro. Expect some more in the coming weeks and months as more people experiment with it.

Enjoy the resources, and we will see you next week!
